Else you have Pardes, ddlj where suitors were shown horrible men just so that useless hero would look best among the two.

I think, makers of almost Sufal Sampurna are in a quarry. They cannot show Sai to be too independent of Appa and rejecting the suito,r for the whole premise of the series is based on Sai respecting Appa and Appa despising Nachiket.

I guess the makers found the way out by using the standard formula.
