I haven't watched recent episodes but wasn't Sid's mother already introduced in the show. When he was suspended from the hospital and went home, he was talking to his mother right😕

It looks more of skirting around grey areas , one it's a ITV show ( where creative liberty can be cosmic for sake of twists 😆) & two it's S2 with references & characters from earlier already stepping in ( or about to) ,so everything & anything is possible to twine & careen through by cutting or connecting characters and circumstances as they traverse past and present journey of characters.

The makers have scarecly touched personal lives of characters, the accommodation or residence not shown 😔 The only clarity (which is muddled 😆) is Sid's mother's insistence to work at Sanjivani (no coherence on whether she is biological or foster mother - which is likely, if both she & Aarti are retained)

Dr Shashank's only family member present during surgery was Anjali, none other adjacent or mentioned, leaving possibility of all kinds of incisions to vent the flow to glide narrative.

The various articles are just assumptions & speculations apart from the interview where Aarti Bahl confirms her entry as Sid's mother.
