Not sure why Malhar could have not shot Vaaman, the gun was RIGHT in front of him. The only reason I can think of is that they don't want to make the Ranes and Deshmukhs enemies again, so its best that Atul does it in self-defense. But even then, it was a little weird, given that Atul had a bullet in his spine?

I think the main problem in all these tracks are that Malhar is never the hero. He is always the person that rescues the hero, be it Mai, Kalyani or now Atul.
