They are both A list actresses but Deepika is a star. She has the it factor and huge fan base that popular actors have. It is a bit like comparing Aamir and SRK (I am not saying they are as popular, it is just a comparison so don’t lynch me). In the long run Alia might have an edge in her acting career if she doesn’t get lazy as she is less likely to be typecast (since she is not as popular and seen as a trend setter/sex symbol).
