Can Ram-Leela be Deepika's 'female oriented film'?

Ram-Leela was released when Ranveer didn't have a single Hit in his career. He was also coming after a Flop which was Lootera. Deepika on the other hand was coming after two Blockbusters YJHD and CE.

Ranveer wasn't really a big star when Ramleela was released. So why Ramleela can't be called as a Deepika movie instead of a DeepVeer movie?

If TWMR can be a Kangana film and a woman oriented movie despite it being a love story, because Madhavan doesn't have any stardom(not that Kangana has it but her performance elevated the movie), then why not RamLeela be Deepika film when she was the top actress and Ranveer was a struggling newcomer at that time?

Deepika is always accused of not doing a woman oriented film, even by me, but now I think that she should be credited for Ramleela.

Don't forget Piku. That film was closer to being a female-centric movie than Ram Leela.

Nobody went to watch RL for Deepika, audiences can't tolerate her horrid voice and non-acting skills, how can she get credit for RL success 😆 film is famous for tattad tattad, Ranveer's iconic hair rubbing steps, gorgeous SLB sets, Supriya Pathak's villainous acting and ang laga de chemistry .. DP jaaye bhaad me

Oh god no! Don't compare Kanganas brilliant performance in TWMR with Deepika in RL.

The reason Kangana was credited with the success was because she won eveyone's heart with by acing a role like Datto.

The confrontation scene between Tanu and Datto is something that Deepika won't be able to do in 10 lifetimes.

The only thing that stood out for me in Ram leela was Supriya Pathak. That's it.

Lol no. Raanveer was already considered an A list actor. Let's not forget that he was in the stunning for ROM's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet.

Moreover they can't be a Ram without a Leela...

In TWM, both Kangana and Madhavan were B listers.

And the thing was that Madhavan was still a B list actor in Bollywood when TWMR was being made while Kangana became an A-lister with Queen.

Deepika was having back to back hits 9 films straight and rs was on back to back flops, credit of ram Leela goes to deepika. If rs was such a huge star, why PV was being attack by dp, slb and salman’s name and not rs. After marriage rs is more popular while dp is not. I am sure marriage will change this and she’ll have her first huge flop after huge success.

Another Ranveer related post??? 🤣

How obsessed are you with the over hyped and complete nobody RS? 😆 My god... the dedication Ranveer haters have towards him, it's more than us fans. 😆

Fyi Ram Leela can't be hailed as a DP film simply because both Ram and Leela were the leads not just Leela. Even a school kid can figure this out. 😆 Stardom doesn't dictate whose film it is, it's obviously about the story and who the protagonists are.

Even Padmaavat wasn't a DP film and I don't think I need to explain why.

Maybe you should learn first what a female oriented movie is. :D and no no one takes the credit away from deepika for RL. She definetely add a lot to the opening but still it’s not the only reason. Cause she would had the same kind of opening for all her other movies after that. Piku and that other one are maybe different genre and offbeat. But I mean tamasha trailer and songs didn’t gave a way what kind of a movie is. It looked fun so how come big stars and much liked Jodi like them couldn’t even reach the opening like RL? If it’s only on her shoulders? She had just a big hit with Piku before so how come it didn’t worked here?

Just to clear it out, I know very well what a female oriented movie is, but I'm talking from box office POV. Not story POV. Like DZ and Secret Superstar are female oriented movies from story pov but due to SRK and Aamir being in the films, they are no more Alia or Zaira Wasim movies from box office perspective.

And no Piku can't be counted because the movie opened almost as much as solo films of Big B.

The narrative treats ram Leela as some epic and tragic love story but the romance is barely developed. It's more about lust than love. We don't...
