Anurag was intentionally kept away from this because with Anurag in picture Veena would have never been in party, in jail or most importantly with Anurag around Pre's whole attention will be on Anurag. She would have indulged in her silly fights with him and he would have been around her taunting, annoying. And I guess they don't want to show Anurag just standing but not doing anything for Pre and sharmas so they kept him away so that they can establish new pairing.

You can't compare Vikranth and Bajaj's situations. Whatever Vikranth's intentions were..all he did was help Prerna not destroy her life.
