Does Vedika deserve the hate?

So I was just wondering after watching today’s precap how Naira would/should react towards Vedika.

I obviously don’t like Vedika’s character and want her out of this show and Kaira’s life ASAP, but come to think of it, does she deserve to be part of the games that Kaira keep playing with each other?

Yes, she lacks self-respect and is delusional enough to think Kartik would love her one day but other than day, she didn’t really do anything major for her to deserve this second-hand treatment from Kartik.

It has been implied from the start of the track that when Kartik brought her home after her father’s death, he intended to marry her. It hasn’t really been clarified if Kartik only intended to provide her with a family and the family misunderstood his intentions, but at the end of the day, everyone kind of expected for Kartik to marry her eventually.

She lived in the Goenka house for 4 years, looked after the entire family apparently, waited for Kartik to finally agree for marriage. That’s all she’s done till now.

Kartik was the one who proposed to marry her for the sake of his family. He was selfish, always has been. I know he did make it clear to her that he was doing it as an obligation and not out of love, but being a girl wouldn't you kind of expect your husband to start loving you eventually?

She even broke off the marriage when she saw Kartik’s breakdown but Kartik was the one who promised her that he would try to move on. He got married, knowing fully well that he would never be able to let go off Naira. He did it for himself and his family.

Coming to Naira, she had the option to stop the wedding, but she didn’t. Did she not once think that what will happen if and when Kartik finds out about Kairav being his son and her being alive? Wasn’t she selfish as well to ruin another’s girl life without disclosing to her that her husband already has a 5 year old son?

Now we all know what the future storyline will be. Kartik would obviously prioritise Kairav and would be drawn towards Naira, intentionally or unintentionally. He would only pay heed to Vedika when he wants to use his second-marriage card to taunt Naira and hurt her. Eventually Vedika would either turn negative or would chose to walk away from Kaira’s life.

Even if the marriage is deemed illegal, which I hope it is, Vedika did think she got married to a man she loves. We keep talking about how Kaira didn’t deserve this life, but I guess they just end up paying for their actions, due to the games they keep playing with each other, they have made their entire family, their son, and now another girl suffer.

PS: I am in no way advocating for Vedika. I want her out of the show at the earliest possible because my shipper heart wants Kaira to be back together despite how toxic they are for each other, but I just randomly thought about this.

I also did think about this but then its very very strangefor goenkas to just accept a girl like this. Vedika has done nothinf compared to what naira has done previously for the goenkas and family. Yes she is immature. She is everything but as a family i havent seen a single person ever supporting her.... i rem when this marrige track of kartiks sister mansi was going on.... everyone was dancing and kartik was rubbing it on her face...

Except keerti at that time no one did notice what a person with dream to become a dancer would have gone through... Also during raghav dadi's behaviour was so so bad...

Kartik did kept taunting her..threw her out of the house...dadi never accepted her....she became nill when swrna did not let her contact .... swrna was the one keeping her son away for 20 years...if we compare swrna n naira...then swrna was in front of family n lying to their faces.... whereas naira ran away...she came back...but she heard kartik...and then she was like no. I will go away. Now i wonder...why is everyone excpet naira and maybe sometimes kartik is not forgiven but every othet person is.

I understand vedica is taking care from last 4 years..but naira is the one who did whatever it took to become a good bahu and still they shower love n all thoese pampering to vedica ? I still rem . Dadi being so selfish and disguisting about naira as a run away girl...now what happened ? No past of vedica bothers anyone ?

Also no matter what but vedika knew what she was getting into....eventually fall in love...... this is a phrase which could not ever happen if naira didnt come back then ? Who would be the one to blame. Also a fathers priority is his kid....that is a known fact now if vedika gets jealous then she is not so innocent as we thought becoz apparently aap toh low levels ke pyar pr hi kam chla rhe the na ???? She was like frnds hi shi...and all..

And for naira...i am both angry n pity on her...she has no achii family.... if this was a real scenario...then everyone wpuld first be happy hug her...take her to care....n then ask questions this is what family is...that no matter what ...no matter what happens you take care of each other...but alas here everythingis a mess.

Also no hate to any character or actor ya actresses .

In earlier episodes they said Kartik brought Vedika into GV...2 years back...than they changed the duration....as they did with most of the previous scenarios...for their own convenience...Well keeping my dislike towards Vedika the character with no self respect aside...Kartik and Naira both intentionally stuck her in their mess...Naira on hearing that Kartik is moving on with Vedika by his own will...decided to move back....and Kartik decided to get remarried for his family only.....but what makes her getting stuck into the mess....her own choice is....she thought Kartik will accept her one day even if Naira wasn't alive?....even when she has seen Kartik's love and obsession for Naira...say Naira was and is not alive....knowing how Kartik is....he won't even befriend her or share his pain with her...let alone loving her back...he would have fulfilled his responsibilities like he would have supported her in her career or provided her with everything...but Is that enough?....she actually thought Kartik would find her name in mehndi after getting married that also on wedding night??....I mean the man who is emotionally blackmailed by his family to get remarried and she knows it verry well....she knows how his family pushed him to get married..than afterwards how they tried to make it appear that Kartik is getting married by his choice...will he actually find his name on wedding night and embrace her?....how delusional of her to even think like that!....Kartik has been clear about her place in his life...he never promised to love her back...he told his father....he would always love his dead wife Naira....but SAINTS let them get married to destroy four lives....The second marriage is not legal its good for Vedika more than it is for Kartik and Naira...as being in loveless marriage where two people are not comfortable even as friends is more than humiliating...its mentally and emotionally self destructive....No matter what Kartik and Vedika's marriage is illegal and has no value....for me Vedika is lucky that she got saved....Now even if Naira try to move back seeing that sindoor and mangalsutra as previously she let them get married & Kartik got remarried to her or try to use her to hurt Naira...the fact is marriage is illegal but CVs won't show it that way....

My thought is she gave the family strength and encouragement during the tough times they faced trying to move forward in life. She was also like a reliable friend to Karthik who he could talk to and who helped him to keep going forward and wake up every morning. I'm assuming she brought some calm after all the Kaira drama that had taken place over the years and Suhasini felt finally a peaceful and drama free girl had come into their lives. She has always come off as a respectful person caring for everyone's feelings understanding that the family is trying to heal. She didn't do any of the OTT drama that we saw between Kaira and I feel Karthik needs someone like that as a life partner to balance things out. Kaira as a couple came with a lot of drama and they both are very impulsive and do things without thinking properly which causes lots of problems. Two people like that creates lots of chaos but if one person is calm and unites the family in a peaceful manner then that is very much needed. She has self respect and hasn't done anything to degrade herself and always wanted Karthik to be happy. She didn't know that Naira was alive and with a child when she married Karthik. I feel all the criticism of the character and actor are unjustified. People are criticizing her now but if she is able to sacrifice her own happiness to unite a couple who has a child I think people will need to give her the respect that is owed to the character. The situation today isn't her fault and for people to blame her is wrong.

Their marriage started out in bad circumstances but not every marriage starts out with two people very much in love from day 1. Some are good friends that later develop the closeness and love. Many people today still have arranged marriages and only get to develop that closeness and bond after marriage. From what I see they don't lie and hide things from each other. Karthik communicates with her in a peaceful manner and there is no OTT drama between them. What else can Suhasini Goenka want for Karthik? She wants a peaceful and respectful person in his life that won't make it an unpredictable rollercoaster ride. She wants him to have some stability in his life which Vedika can provide. The family loves her and she has given them some strength during their difficult times.

I think people are having trouble separating their attachment to Kaira and are not able to see things with clear or neutral eyes. All they want is for Kaira to be together even if they have a very unhealthy and toxic relationship which is always full of chaos. Love alone is not enough to sustain a healthy marriage. Respect and trust is missing in Kaira's relationship.

How can you not feel bad for a girl that got married with hopes and dreams to have them shattered the same day. I don't think we would wish that on anyone. Frankly speaking she doesn't deserve to be put in this situation and deserves someone who doesn't come with all this baggage that comes with being a member of the Goenka family.

At the end we all know Kaira will find a way to be together and it's just that the audience is getting tired of waiting for that to happen. Things are not just going to happen overnight.

Okay. I understand to the point where you are talking abt kartik and vedika ...but she saw him . She literally saw him crying and hawling....like a mad person for naira. This kind of things take years to heal or maybe sometimes never. I e seen this in real life where an uncle loved his wife and after she dies he was married off to her sister. And let me tell you its been nearly 38 years that this happened and my mum told me this ...and still theyare what ppl call loveless marriage without any emotion they just adjust and accept it. They have kids together that is because of the society pressure. Which is the reality. No matter how much i hate dadi ...this exists in indian mind set...having a parpota is must for them.... also no one and i mean no one forced her to get married whereas kartik was emotionally blackmailed. What does she except ??? And naira is done so much for them....like man really i feel sometimws that how early and easily every single person accepted vedika ...and you know why that is ? Because of her being a quiet shy ...and har kisi ke bat manane wali ..."no" word ko kabhi use nhi krne wali whereas naira was a person who stood up to all thoese hypocritical family members. Whether is it dadi or that perv mama.... she said during aditya also...ya abortion ke time pr...that is why she is daughter in law...and not daughter like vedika ...

Also kartik made his feelings clear from the starting...even if naira was not alive kartik wouldnt have loved her or if he started then it meant moving on which is so difficult....

Also i am a kaira fan yes...but here in the forum almost all the ones commenting know...that they are characters and this is a show...i loved many shows and they have come and gone...its all okay...

And for naira... swrna sent away her son.... who was literally living in a poverty type and being there servant atleast naira here is with her son no matter what difficulties...also if swrna can be forgiven in the show for being god knows what what...then naira can be too.

@bold Did Kartik told her that he accused Naira of infidelity?....Did Kartik told her ANYthing about his past life?...or even his present life?...what they were shown sharing with each other?....except Kartik telling her about Kairav...but than he told about Kairav to his entire family...what else they were shown sharing?....Did Vedika told Kartik that she loves him?....or she expect him to love her back one day?...or she has some expectations from their relationship....Kartik got married to her by his own happiness?...was he CALM or happy in any of marriage functions?....Suhasini Goenka previously said so many things....just because she supports Vedika....what she said became true?...her choice for Kartik becomes right?....Most of all has Vedika seen Kartik's other side?...how he behaves when he is angry...will she be able to tolerate it after committing any mistake?....

@bold Suhasini Goenka just wanted par pota from Kartik and nothing else...also its Kartik's life and she can't decide for him...not even after being his grandmother...she can't force him...

No matter to what extent Kartik and Naira bring out best and worst in each other...they are each other's calmness and chaos both...they neutralize or cancel out each other's flaws...what they share might appear OTT to few but that doesn't mean they can be happy with anyone else or can keep anyone else happy....few people do love each other after marriage but not all...also not all couple share a balanced relationship...their are problems and even OTTness in real life relationships too...though not to an extent Kartik and Naira have...but two people of opposite nature creating fairy tale is not a real life story these days...as nowadays rarely few people are calm and composed...or tolerate what ppl use to previously...

Today’s scene was something else all together. She actually thought she would share the bed with Kartik and he would find his name in her mehendi? The same guy who has all the days he’s lived without his wife marked?

I agree with everyone saying she bought it upon herself because she’s way too delusional. I hate her scenes but I guess it would have made more sense if they showed how Kartik got her to the house instead of just implying from the first episode of the leap that they were to get married.

As people have pointed out, there must be a reason why Goenkas are so fond of her. Initially before the leap when spoilers came about her entering, I assumed she would play the role of a psychologist who would have helped Kartik deal with his loss, or a friend, like Kartik’s aunt was for Naitik. Vedika and Kartik didn’t even share a friendship, so for everyone to just assume that Kartik would marry her and for her to love him seems absurd.

As for the Goenkas not treating Naira like a daughter despite her doing so much for them, then I think they always felt threatened due to the hold she had over Kartik. All of them are selfish and were only good towards Naira whenever she did something that benefitted them, for example, Manish’s changed attitude towards her when she started helping out with the business.

Naira is too strong for them to be controlled and Dadi is the kind of woman who can’t see her position being challenged. Even in the hospital scene, Naira gave it back to Dadi when she kept talking about Kartik’s sufferings.

I would beg to differ. She wasn’t a friend to Kartik or someone he could talk to. It has been made quite clear how awkward he felt around her. They only started communicating when she offered being friends in Goa.

As for Kartik communicating with her in a calm manner, I don’t see it as calmness rather him being formal with her. He doesn’t need to be formal with Naira.
