Did YRF keep Vaani kapoor hostage?

what happened to her?? She debuted in shuddh desi romance, was pretty good in that. I for one thought she would be offered some roles even if they were not main actresses roles. She came back for befikre, then disappeared completely. she did some music video for them too. Now She will be seen in Shamshera with ranbir, but I am pretty sure her role is not significant.

She was awesome in SDR. I had never seen such a confident debut before. Her terrible luck that she got a mentor like Aditya Chopra. Ruining her face ended all her chances to become a top actress. Both Pari and Vaani could've been a competition to Alia only if they didn't make stupid decisions regarding their career. They had both talent and connections to make it big.

I was so impressed with her in shudh desi romance. But then it went a downhill after she destroyed her face. And I didn't even bother watch befikre it looked such a wannabe movie.

I agree, she was pretty good in shuddh and could have worked way more? I am just confused as to why she did not try other films. at the same time..What films could have Vaani done that released in the past though? All the YRF films went to Parineeti. And I feel like roles for actresses back then for new generation young actors were very few.

Dharma backed roles were for Alia. Parineeti did YRF backed roles at the time. Back in those years, it was literally YRF vs. Dharma. The talent came along with the PH. Now, it is all about multiple PH working together to make a good product. Success for Alia/Pari back the was based on how well their films were from their respective PH's. Alia attained more success through a smarter mentor, her home PH making better films.

She changed a lot of things but most prominent was her chin which became longer and more unnaturally pointed

I think its super ironic that a man who doesn't have extra-ordinary looks and behaves like a feral cat is giving girls advice on making themselves look prettier and asking them to go for plastic surgery!

Blame Adi Chopra for that. He didn't give her enough offers. Also Vaani was under 3 film contract with YRF (which will be completed with War), that means she can't do any film from other PHs.

Yes, agree with you. But isn't it up to her to make her own decisions? She could have left YRF and struggled and worked her way up with her talent. It's hard im sure..but still.

The contract means she needs to do 3 yrf movies but can sign others too. It wasn’t different for everyone else. Be it ranveer, pari, ayushmann, Anushka.
