Sc ji ko amnesia ke saath saath apni sahelion ka rang bhi chadh gaya hai which is why she is giving such lame justifications. Just admit it you aren't able to play it well what nonsense is this. Talking about mystry and layering uhmmm sc ji sacred games ka naam suna hai? Everything is mystery and all characters have so many shades yet we are not repulsed by them like we are by ishaani and durr kyon jaayein aap ke apne hi naye show main aur characters hain with mystery element to them and woh toh annoying nahi hain

That by all means is such a lame way to make ishani sound intriguing. Girl doing things alone after losing her parents has been the mantra for shows since ages. As AY pointed out SC herself so far has played all her prominent roles on itv as a orphan.

Layers and all people will themselves find and feel interested in it if one needs to constantly remind them about the same and use it as a justification for other missteps then clearly execution has faltered somewhere.

Have the excuses started yet?

1) People are expecting another Anika from SC, that is why they aren't able to appreciate a "unique" character like Ishani

2) People aren't able to see the "layers" in the writing and that is they aren't appreciating how Ishani is a BETTER character than Anika....lol

If any of these excuses sound familiar, it's cuz we've already seen this round of events with Redux.

Then also, whenever some of us pointed out the bad writing and SC struggling with the lame version of Anika in redux, these were the excuses given to defend. Hum log bolte reh gaye, kisi ne nahin suna.....lol bas end mein jab SC exited the show, then suddenly ppl missed original Anika....lol otherwise for certain ppl redux Anika was way better and more "mature".

And SC.....haha isko Ishani mein "fierceness" dikh rahi hai...waah.....I guess the definitions for fierce and badtameez have been exchanged in the dictionary.....fierce Anika thi.....Ishani is straight up mannerless and disrespectful to most ppl.

But then, I'm reminded that ppl found redux Anika "fierce" too whenever she did a one off scene of threatening Daksh.....ROFL....bas itne mein hi ban gaye "fierce"....holding your own with dignity is more powerful than this put on aggression from Ishani that is being labeled "fierce".....umm nope.

From the discussions that i read its said that Ishaani character is deliberately written like that and there will be her growth and learning to her character...

But from what i have watched and read i feel Ishaani needs psychological help more than anything...because she tells that she is follower of rules and is busy moral policing Sid and others where as on other hand she herself doesnt follow the rules to the T. So there is a gap between what is she believes and what she does and looks like she is not completely aware of what she has done and why she has done...

Flawed character or a trait of a person is something that the person truly believes it and follows it whereas personality disorder is something that a person hardly has control over it.....

for me Ishaani seems to be having some personality disorder or some physcological disorder and she needs to get to a therapist help to overcome that.

If a person is having conditions like nyctophobia or fear of heights or fear of water etc he/she is not like a flawed character....these are psychological conditions those need medical help to overcome....

So for now i cannot really understand what growth Ishaani as a character can have apart from working on her psychological issues...😕

Finally got to catch the show and have to agree with most of what's already been said here. The story is so contrived, that I could actually foresee the next scene and what the PH/ writers believed would be a viewers reaction.

The writing being a disappointment is no surprise but SC not being able to get into the skin of the role of doctor is. There is no doubt Ishani is poorly characterized but SC has somewhat failed in her execution too. I know her fans will tell you it's too early and she is just finding her bearings but she has had months to prepare for this role and she has not been able to sell Ishani to me. I remember in IB days she could switch to a new character with only a couple of days of prep and here toh she has had so much time. Let's see if the writing improves and SC can pick up all the 'layers' of her character. Her justification for her character has also been surprising and something which never happened during IB. I wonder what has made her so nervous!

I think it was AY who mentioned in a previous post the that original cast of DMG had genuineness, camaraderie and chemistry from the very first scene. This junior cast share no such warmth. They all look like out of place individuals rather than a well gelled unit. I thought they would have held workshops before the show started but clearly very little has been done in this area.

Don't even get me started on the new hot and happening best Jodi of Sidisha according to solos. I can't remember the last time a Jodi was rammed down a viewers throat like this one. As far as I can understand this week's episodes and next week's are all based around a 24 hour window which means the new Jodi will have its first eye lock and RK pose on the very first day of meeting (and that too in the middle of what appears to be a riot!). I've also seen a promo of ishani appearing to take Sid's mobile and putting it in her top and Sid picking her up like a caveman in the middle of the hospital! Not sure about the medical professionals in India but here in the UK you would be CRUCIFIED for that kind of behaviour.

The only saving grace for me has been the performance of the senior cast. However I noticed fans are already grumbling about their screen time. I wonder how long before they are relegated to wallflowers in the background.

In comparison to most of the ITV shows Sanjivini is definitely not the worst show I have seen but the benchmark for ITV is so low currently that I would hardly take that as a compliment. I hope for SC's sake the writing gets better and the promised layers to Ishani's character do actually materialise.

Exactly. Character flaws are very different from a medical or personality disorder. People are conflating the two in order to justify the bizarreness of Ishani 🤷‍♀️

Flawed toh Shivaay and Anika bhi the. Having so much ego is a character flaw. They both had that. They both evolved from it. That’s evolution.

Ishani does not seem flawed, she genuinely seems to need medical help. And even that wouldn’t be an issue if the writers hadn’t failed so utterly in humanizing her. Flaws ho ya medical issue, you should be able to empathize with and want to watch a character. None of this is happening with Ishani. There is nothing to connect to in the writing or acting.

The excuses are only getting bizarre by the minute in trying to justify this character. I found it hilarious that people actually think this is good writing 🙄😂

Harneet would be laughing her head off somewhere reading this. The fans who railed against her for redux are appreciating writing as lame and bizarre as the writing for Ishani 🙄😂

LOL 24 hour nahin toh max 48 hour window cuz I saw some random dahi handi scenes in b/w the clip too so maybe the accident thing is next day but regardless, that is a lot of stuff crammed into a short time window and reduces the believability factor all the less......from forced nok jhonk to lifts and eyelocks in a barely 2 day gap is super lame even for the generally lame standards of this PH😆

The caveman lift was super OTT....but I guess this is the standard of this Sanjivani....shirtless doctor roaming around in main lobby.....resident doctors pulling caveman lifts on each other.....lol so much for the "realism" the makers claimed.

LOL the standards have fallen so low on ITV now, the benchmark for worst show is super low.....so is it really a success simply if your show isn't retarded supernatural trash? If that's the benchmark, then sure this may not be the worst show but Ishani's characterization is deffo one of the worst I'e ever seen and SC is not gelling with this.....

Writing for shows hardly gets better.....it's usually downhill after week 1....yahaan it's already so bad, so it can only get worse.....anyways, fangirls ke liye "hawt" romance daal denge toh all other basic character fails will be ignored.

Layers need to exist on a basic level....they don't materialize magically two weeks into a show.....layers woh hote hain that are apparent in but a glance of a character....like the glances exchanged b/w Shashank and Juhi or Shashank and Anjali that let even a new viewer know that there's some intriguing history there.....yahaan kuch nahin hai...empty air being packaged as "mystery". Just random OTT "trauma" scenes while staring at a magazine don't generate layers.

Anyways, SC and her fans seem happy so humaare bolne se kya hoga.

Bhai different from her natural self toh quiet Haya from QH bhi thi But SC played that character very well, so issue isn’t that she can’t play different from her natural self, issue is her playing deliberately repressed characters...she looks damn fake playing that cuz it goes against her natural SPIRIT...already this was obvious in redux and they ultimately switched her back to her natural self....they will probably do the same with this Ishaani too suddenly 🤷‍♀️😂

Character soft ho ya strong, FAKE nahin lagna chahiye...but this character is coming across as put on because fake doesn’t suit SC but she doesn’t seem to get it toh what to do 🤷‍♀️

BBKD is a lovely show. Deffo worth watching over current TV trash and overhyped token nostalgia projects like this Sanjivani 😆

Just seen the promo again and completely forgot about dahi handi scene (clearly the impact was so great!). Are they just taking scenes from 90's Bollywood movies and rehashing them for their show. All the money and resources and this is their best thus far!!!
