I'm worried about her mental health. As you mentioned, she has been through a lot in the past few days and now to be presented with a choice wherein she has to choose between her mom and dad? That'll take a toll on anyone and here, she's just a 17 yr old.

Now that I think about it, I actually want to see HS being selfish for a change. If Babita insists on taking Minnie away, I want him to stand his ground and fight to keep her.

For once, I want him to stake his claim as a parent and tell her she has no right to take his daughter away from him against his or Minnie's will. He deserves to be happy, and he deserves to have Minnie in his life.

It all started from the track where he was training her before the Japani kushti competition. They played the "bapu sehat ke liye" song and it was just perfect. Then she started to talk like him when he was angry and he warned her against speaking like him because Babita would get angry.

Most recently, the way she has been part of the Haryanvi camp of HS, Imarti, and now her newfound Nanu, it's like she's the daughter of that family line, know what I mean?

Also, she's not related to HS by blood, so the more of his traits and mannerisms we see in her, the more the nature vs nurture element will come out.

But I understand that some people feel it might be too old-fashioned and HS is not that much older than Minnie that he should be called something so serious as bapu. Plus she's a modern kid so Papa might be better.

I love it when Minnie speaks Haryanvi. It truly makes it seem like she is his daughter.

I do! And it works on so many different levels. I don't know if I'm going to explain this properly but by adopting HS' language, she's adopting his roots, his family's heritage and their entire legacy. There is a whole history behind the language and where it came from. There are so many customs and traditions in HS' family, most likely from Haryana, that Minnie is unaware of but she'll learn over time. Them speaking one language also alludes to them being one voice. They're using words that they know will be understood by the other.

For example, when Minnie was reading the letter, she couldn't interpret everything that was written. She needed Babes to translate it into simple words so that the deeper meanings could be understood by everyone.

It depends entirely on the person. When HS called his FIL bapu, it came out so natural. But knowing how Minnie is, it will feel weird coming out of her mouth. Then again, we won't know for sure until it happens.
