I think he said it was thrown out of court - "kharij" was the word he used. No?
I think so and if that's the case, then there could have been so many reasons as to why it was thrown out. It's not even necessary that the case had gone to trial.

Imrati died 8 years back. Euthanasia is not legal in India. So HS will go to jail. Fiction can take creative liberties but they cannot show something which is not legal in the court.
If we go this route, it will be Imrati and not HS who overdosed on the medicine. Death by overdose is a very common cause of suicide. Just when Imrati was dying in his arms, her family may have come in. All they saw was HS holding her in his arms and she dying. But the question remains on what basis was HS charged? No theory will hold good in court without evidence.
Another possibility is there was a third person who overdosed Imrati and framed HS for murder.
Wow such an interesting theory Jean!!👏
However euthanasia is not legal in India except that many people still resort to it but if it goes to court then HS could be condemned.
Btw doesn't kharij mean dismissed? as in the case was dismissed??
The theory is wonderful. Cause there was a segment where Imarti is in unexplained pain and is clutching HS tightly.
But I doubt they will get into such complicated things, given the scenario is already messed up.
I'm surely gonna cry, finding out the reason. Itll be too heartbreaking.

Yes it was dismissed. Due to lack of evidence I feel. But there must be a certain ambiguity around the case, that makes Sartaj Chautala take it to upper court. This time around, things should get clarified and HS should be baizzat buri instead of just being dismissed.
I wasn't planning on posting this but since all possibilities are being discussed, how about-
Imarti was suffering from a certain mental illness. Like she got fits and seizures. So one day, in such a fit, that usually occured when medicines are not taken on time, she picks up HS' gun and tries to shoot herself. HS stops her and in the fight, the gun is in HS' hand but she pulls the trigger and thus dies.
I know it's super dramatic but this was shown in the serial Dev (Colors), where this situation currently in our show bears some uncanny resemblance to that story.
There too, the ML loved his wife too much and yet was accused of her murder. It was only in the end that he was proven innocent.
But can this be our theory too? I don't think so. Too dramatic.
I find the euthanasia theory very plausible.
The only thing is the legalities around it.
Otherwise it really fits the bill!

And it is a rather sensitive topic too. Can't take legal liberties with it.
It really fits well but then will they show it? And how will they bring out HS unscathed?
Might be ...as one of SBS segments shown Imarti holding her head crying looks upset seems she is having serve headache
lets see
Euthanasia was not legal in India at that time. Even today, only passive euthanasia is allowed. So Imarti's father taking Hanuman Singh to court on charges of euthanasia is very unlikely. Because if it were the case, lower court wouldn't have set him free.
P.S. I don't get much time to visit this forum but I always make it a point to read your episode analysis. You write so beautifully that I always end up watching the episode again, only to notiice the nuances you mention in your post. I am sorry for never commenting on any of your posts. But I love reading them. Thank you ❤️
