First meeting - He was so amused at her way of loving a guy n being such an open book to him though he was impressed with her daring to enter his house n order him.

Second meeting - He almost taunted her love n her dumbness. Kind of.

Third meeting - She agreed for marriage plus pregnancy news revelation. He cud see how young n innocent for her to sacrifice her life at a wrong time for someone, which is very rare for him.

Fourth/fifth meeting - Being sadistic on phone, asking her one more sharth n all was just a way of removing his frustration n due to those initial thoughts on getting married again.

Sixth meeting - Mehndi scene. He almost gave up was here. He was finally ready for the marriage what may come. The age difference actually started being visible from here. Cuz he knows she is now his responsibility n there was no point in now looking back.

YOU'VE EXPRESSED IT SO WELL! I think it started with intrigue. Okay, somehow my daughter is responding to this woman and her alone. Okay she's Anurag Basus' fiance! Just my luck. The freaking Basus. Then finding out about her. Knowing as much as he could. But obviously, meeting her was a different experience. She was naive, and immature, and desperate but also had this recklessness inside her. And I wonder if he had those exasperating moments of, 'this is who I'm marrying? Really?' but his play and amusement in the face of her complete naivety was such a sure contrast. Him interjecting her at points, explaining the rules, telling her not to reveal her cards so easily, explaining to her what a deal really means and then her what the hell look to his proposal. I feel like he was enjoying her like you enjoy a little kid with all his naive assumptions about a subject you're an expert at. Like little pet, let's play it your way.😆

And then the second meeting, where again he was playing her so calmly. I feel like that balance shifted when they were married. Her devastation and vulnerability combined with how young and naive she is, softened him, that with his guilt, he became so attuned to every nuance of hers. He overcompensates. From picking her calls during meetings to telling her everything, giving her whatever she wants, even when Anurag is standing right in front of him, and being so so perceptive of her moods and desires. That really cements the growth arc btw them.

U r on a roll today! loving to read every word.

@bold: yes. Bcoz then she became his wife. His equal. So he had to uplift her and he became protective of her. All her weaknesses were his to defend against the world.

RB... RB...RB.... Just never can there be another one.

so beautifully written. I agree with everything you said. People have to work hard to keep their relationship/marriage alive after the first phases of it. Which is why people gets divorced because the interest isn't there anymore. Passion doesn't keep a relationship alive. It's trust and respect. Bajaj has those two characteristics which anurag lack. Bajaj and prerna are recently married and he already done for her what anurag should have done the entire show. Respect and trust her. If anurag did this he would've realized prerna married bajaj to get him out of prison. Bajaj when he found out prerna came and requested for him he instantly understood that's what she does.

To add to that anurag family has been insulting prerna since day one and he never spoke up for her. It's always prerna working hard to get accepted. Bajaj in one moment shut down mohini.

SO TRUE! Also people are forgetting the fact that the power dynamics in Basu house had Prerna been a Basu Bahu would've been wildly skewed out of her favor. Her identity would've been Anurag's wife and that is it. Mohini would've accepted her but that acceptance would've been a boon extended for what she did for Anurag and the lengths she went to save her son. And all of that privilege would've evaporated the day Prerna took a single misstep. Anurag may have shown his disagreement but he never flat out shut his mother down or called her out for what she was doing to Prerna. And anyway, Prerna never had an ounce of backbone when it came to Mohini. She was forced to marry Naveen BECAUSE OF HER. Naveen didnt' blackmail her. Mohini did. But she neither hated the Basus for doing that to her, nor had the guts to tell Anurag the truth to his face. It never came out, did it?

With Bajaj she's already the maalkin of the house in a sense. She follows him when he leaves in the middle of an argument and he says nothing, she goes after him when he doesn't pick her call, she orders him, bosses him around and he gives her all the autonomy to do whatever she likes.🤣And he's literally shut the BASUS every single time they've tried to even insinuate anything about Prerna. AND THAT LITERALLY SEALS IT.

Also, he realises that he was maybe little too harsh on her when he said she didn't need to come here and beg etc., So then immediately he goes on the backfoot with a softer emotion of thank you.

He realises that she graciously understood what he was saying and nods at him when he says to check with him first in future. So he wants to make an effort for her to forget that unpleasant telling off moment with a brighter moment.

He tries to lift her mood up amidst all the happenings.

She's a complete stranger, a young, vulnerable naive girl who's suddenly his wife. I think the experience is humbling him as much as it's changing and hitting her. Because he was the Rishab Bajaj. Cold, calculating, aloof and a man who'd bow to no one. Now he's in a relationship, a relationship so close and intimate and she, a girl he didn't even know until yesterday, is his wife. And he can't bring his aloofness, his coldness to their relationship. He can't bring the business world Bajaj, the man he's been so accustomed to all these years, to her. So there's this sense of awkwardness, a little trial and error, now that he's taken off the mask and showed her who he truly is at his core.

It's like oh shit she's my wife. Like suddenly there's a person under your skin. And you can't shake them. He's doing everything he can to keep her comfortable, to read her and give her the sense of respect and understanding she deserves. Their relationship is so new and so unconventional there's no rulebook to play by. So they're both on their own exploration journeys. Trial and error, really.

+1. This reminds me of him realizing she was distracted and asking her to pass the pepper so cutely in Swiss.😆

i agree. Prerna relationship with anurag doesn't work at all. It is indeed very toxic. Prerna sacrifices her entire self respect for anurag and his family. The whole komilka track irritated me. Erica acted very well in that track but to see prerna returning to a house where the people hated her and not to mention anurag insulted her even though he did it to make her hate him. If he was working hard to get out of the marriage with komilka he could've have told her the truth and she would've understand. It's unlike prerna and bajaj where prerna knows she is making a lifelong commitment to bajaj which is why she said those things about HERSELF to make anurag hate her. Komilka and bajaj are two different people.

Bajaj shows prerna respect and along the way teaches her some things. I'm glad they got KSG to play this role because he is indeed a senior actor compared to Erica and the similarities between that and the characters they portray on screen couldn't have been even more perfect. Prerna is naive and innocent. When it comes to anurag and his family she doesn't respect herself. With bajaj he tells her right away she doesn't have to come and beg for him like what she use to do with anurag.
