I have a feeling movie won't be that way, they'd strike a balance. Bcz the old scientist is shown having his share of home life in the trailer. So there's gonna be some balance. The promotion people just ehhh, rubbed me the wrong way. The movie is so in your face though😂😂 they don't trust audience to figure stuff out at allOriginally posted by: janta-janardhan
No one is asking for a ban on any symbol. People are 'criticizing' it. For mixing it with a film whose subject is not even close to what the promo is trying to portray. That's what people in a democratic country do. They protest, criticize, not ban. That's what 'progressive' people do. Banning can be left to the regressive lot! 🐄😏
😂😂😂😂 someone got so rattled,I guess being kicked out of somewhere unanimously then being called out for sharing bigoted stuff does stuff to one's head😭😭
I wouldn't share darling,u can't make me stoop to your level. I won't expose a fellow girl's real name in a public forum,no matter how u r. Get well soon.
If u carry on too much, I'll just block u. Not like ur existence is unavoidable to me
Oh god, there we go again.. "this is against women, it's projecting a certain image of women.. blah blah"
Why is everyone so negative always? Can we not look at a married woman as a married women? Why do we have to exclude the "married" part when they seem to be very proud of it? It's like a person can't even portray or applaud women for something good they do or there will be "feminists" correcting them.

I don't feel it's regressive cz it used sindoor . I personally do think anything a woman has to wear additionally has a sexist tone,be it sindoor or hijab or ghunghat or burkha. I do not like it personally. Doesn't mean I'll go around bashing people irl who wear it..
That is your problem. There are certain additional accessories men wear too, depending on their faith. As long as they not creating any inconvenience, people need not have to change themselves to suit other gender/religion's taste.
Originally posted by: Charaiveti The promo doesn't make it look like they succeeded Inspite of restrictions due to marriage though. It has a tone of they're married n successful,a complete woman. Which irritates me. They're scientists n should be celebrated as so. I read in this thread, that one girl is single and one is a divorcee. So film cannot mean, they achieved it because they were married. Originally posted by: Charaiveti About Anandkumar,I was shocked about his kartite when I got to know about it in here. I was even telling ajns how Noone seems to be genuine these days. I really didn't know about his parallel classes n all n fraud cases against him before some people talked about it here in the trailer thread.
I was aware and I did not find it (his private tutoring) problematic. It is not possible to give boarding and lodging facilities for deprived children without earning. May be he earns more than he spends for the children. But fact is, he could have got away (like most others) without doing that charity too. But our society always condemns people who do something (that they did not do enough). I think, the other way. They did something at least, which many of us did not do. Movie might have exaggerated his charity part. After all, it was a Bollywood movie.
So am I. (I am interested in Hindu scriptures. But not as a divotee. More out of curiosity). But many times I feel, Hinduism is selectively targeted by liberals. While opposing them, I may seem like a traditionalist. (In Hritik-Kangana war, I was always anti-Kangana. I might have looked like Hritik's fan. But I am not anybody's fan).
I am perfectly ok with you thinking I am wrong in finding it wrong. I myself struggle with it at times to that am I being too judgemental about it. But I think when it bothers me is for like say, when in a Rajasthani village or when news show Sudan, the men r all out n about in t shirt or shirts n pant, women r covered toe to nail. Visually how do I not see it n feel a sense of unequality? I do struggle with it a lot. I'm open to hear your pov here, given we both reply respectfully.Originally posted by: flipfl0p

I don't think it's wrong of Anandkumar to take parallel coachings. Of course the money had to come from somewhere for teaching 30 people in free.i heard he had fraud charges n me too charges going on against him, which shocked me. Then I heard he has brain tumor, again I felt bad that did I judge a very sick person.
Yeah as an agnoistic person I do study religions at times, nothing thorough though. My upbringing has been a Hindu one n I do think Hinduism is one of the very flexible accepting religion,I like that. I find stuffs in it I don't necessarily agree with, but I find a lot of that in other religions too. I used to an atheist but now I kinda wonder, if there's no creatyr, why n where is this universe. I also feel we human race won't really know ever totally.
About kangana,oh I hate her. I am totally team Hrithik. You can see my replies about that. I've called people here out when they joked about it that they wouldn't joke if the gender was reversed
How does "sindoor dur tak jaayega" even represent constraint of an Indian married woman?! ... Those words itself is glorifying sindoor ... as in look at the power of my sindoor ... If no sindoor no dur tak jaana! ... I don't see any constraint symbolism of a married woman here!

How is generalisation of a situation into chutiyapa is name calling??
But if we found it insulting than I am sorry.
it wasn't really u who said it,so no need to apologise. And I didn't say it's hurtful expecting any apology or anything. I don't think u did anything that u HV to say sorryOriginally posted by: Thug-Leader

Jab ek ladka aur ek ladki door se sin karte hain to usse sindoor kehte hai #dadjoke
With women's empowerment still stuck on sindoor and mangalsutra, I wonder when we will reach "God is a Woman" and "Mother's Daughter" in India?
