Vijay Deverakonda has been garnering a massive fan following for his previous film Arjun Reddy. The critically acclaimed film was praised by the audiences and his impeccable performance was just a cherry on top! The actor not only impressed the fans from down south, but he has managed to gain a humongous fan-following from Bollywood fans as well.
Recently, Vijay flew down to Mumbai just a few days before the release of Dear Comrade and made sure Karan was the first one to watch the film before the huge announcement. The film will complete one week at the box office today and so far it has raked in a decent business down South.
However, it was reported that Karan Johar paid a staggering Rs 6 crore to acquire the Hindi remake rights of Dear Comrade, the latest report tells us that Karan Johar has been keen on casting Vijay Deverakonda himself.
The filmmaker is yet to decide the final cast for the remake and the rumours were rife that he will be starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in the lead role. Although, Karan has shut down all the rumours.
Now, according to the reports in Mumbai Mirror, Johar was excited to see Vijay star as the lead role in the remake and he also offered him a whopping Rs 40 crore for the role. But, unlike Vijay’s refusal to star in the Hindi remake of Kabir Singh, the south star has politely refused to star in Johar Hindi remake of Dear Comrade as well.
Reportedly, Karan Johar was not the only one who was looking to buy the remake rights of Dear Comrade. Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Vijay Galani were also in contention but backed out after Karan bid Rs 6 crore.
