For the first time in a long time I actually liked the second half of the episode and understood where the characters are coming from. I don't think his ultimate concern was what kind of motherly traits she possessed. It was the fact that she somehow was the only person who could make his daughter happy and she had the qualities for loyalty so he didn't have to worry about her character.
