I saw this on an Indian TV where they said Modi is reincarnation of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. They spoke with utter sincerity.

I personally don't believe in reincarnation. Only that a person's soul travels to heaven or hell based on deeds.

Well the fact that so many people hold these beliefs in this day and age without any proper justification ( except for some vague anecdotal evidence ) makes it a propaganda, isn't it ? This is not just about reincarnation, this includes religion, God, superstitions etc. When has a propaganda for beliefs been so effective that it has been continued for centuries, even leading the educated people to suspend their scientific temperament and believe in something they have no idea about? Wars were fought for it, empires created and destroyed and now we are in a wave of political correctness where people ask for respect for their beliefs they have zero justification for. Most effective, isn't it ?
