After completing more than three decades in the Bollywood industry, Akshay Kumar has faced his own fair shares of hit and flop movies. For the past 5 years, since Holiday in 2014, Akki has hardly ever delivered a flop and many of his movies have crossed the 100 crore mark at the box-office. This kind of consistency is rarely seen in the industry especially when you churn out 3-4 films every year.

Right now, Khiladi Kumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Mission Mangal and has 5 more confirmed films lined up till 2020. Talking about how he jumps from one film to another so fast, Akshay recently told Financial Times that he doesn’t understand how some actors take so much time to prepare for their characters.

He said, “Other actors, they take two or three months to get into character. They lock themselves away and really torture themselves?.?.?. Idiots! I can’t do that. I take two or three days and that’s it. I want to get the movie done!”

With an average of 4 films a year, Akshay has done 125+ films in his career. Last year, he was seen in India’s one of the biggest budget films 2.0 and also signed Amazon Prime’s upcoming show The End and got 90 crores for it. Akshay was the only Indian actor who featured in Forbes’ Highest-Paid Celebrities list of 2019 with total earnings of $65 million.

Talking about the same, Akshay recalls the days when he faced 16 consecutive flops and was panned by the critics. The 51-year-old actor revealed, “There was a time when I had 16 consecutive flops, the media said I was finished. They said I was furniture. They were being kind, actually. I was a whole showroom.”

Akshay’s life has truly been an inspiration for everyone. The way he has become one of the most successful Bollywood actors despite entering the industry as an outsider is truly commendable. His Mission Mangal is all set to hit the cinemas on August 15. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film also stars Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menen.

Maybe because unlike you there are more passionate about art of cinema than money. There is no need to diss actors who work hard for their characters.

Akshay is a good actor but has always done similar characters consecutively. Either comedic roles or patriotic. Of course, years of practice will turn natural eventually.

He seems so jealous of Ranveer. Why is everyone so jealous of Ranveer and also full of hatred?

Not all roles require months of training AK, esp. the roles that u do but it certainly takes sometime to get know and get into roles like Bajirao or Khilji. Esp. when you work with taskmaster like SLB who needs perfection. You need to be directed by SLB, that is your biggest punishment and you would understand. Give respect and take respect. You take lot of respect from Ranveer but you fail to give decent amount of dignity to him.

You do no prep so there is no variation in any of your movies akshay and you look the same in all of them. I can't even remember one memorable character or movie of yours in the past decade.

Not everything in the world is about Ranveer singh.

Akshay has been after these "method actors" for quite a while .. He has also taken digs at actors who claimed they were so invested in their characters that it drained them emotionally and physically so much so that it left them in a dark place for some time ( Ranveer Sigh - Khilji ) ...

To be honest , it does annoy me when Bolly actors give these Hollywood-esque quotes .. They try to paint themselves as some legendary method actors and Akshay tries to bring them down to earth .. But now, even Akshay is annoying due to constant digs at these method actors .. Just let them be , Akshay , let them be .. 😆

He didn't say ranveers name anywhere, akshay is talking bout all method actors, there is no need to drag ranveer into every thread

Oh but this one is .. At least partly about him .. There are few others but Ranveer is the most famous and successful out of the lot ..

Teenrose is usually a paranoid Ranveer fan but i will say she hit the bull's eye with this one .. 😆

He is still a furniture only. In his 30 yrs old career, i cannot even remember a single memorable performance of his 😆
