Few years ago, four filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap came together to make four shorts in a film called Bombay Velvet. In 2018, they launched Lust Stories where they shared one story each revolving around love, lust and desire. Now, they plan to reunite for another similar project, which has been titled Ghost Stories. Bhumi Pednekar, Radhika Apte, Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani were some of the prominent faces in Lust Stories. Like the last series, Ghost Stories will have the four filmmakers share one horror short each. And a source close to the development reveals, "Zoya has a script ready and she will soon be filming her short. It is a quirky but really scary story and this will be her first stint with the horror genre. But everyone who has heard the story has loved it."
Interestingly, she has also locked the main lead for her anthology. "Janhvi Kapoor is the one who will essay the main protagonist in Zoya's short. Zoya and Janhvi met and the actress was bowled over by the script. It didn't take too much of convincing and Ghost Stories will mark Janhvi's debut into the digital world as well. She has also alloted her dates for the same and since it's a 30-minute short, it will be wrapped up in about ten days of shoot."
This won't be Janhvi's first project in the space. She also has RoohiAfza with Rajkummar Rao that's also a horror comedy. On the work front, apart from the Dinesh Vijan production venture, Janhvi will also be seen essaying the role of IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena in her biopic followed by Dostana 2 alongisde Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar's magnum opus Takht. She is also in talks for two other big projects that will go on floors next year. But we're now waiting to see Janhvi spin magic on the web, too!
