After reading the chapter I can say kushi was not wrong by any means in asking permission from Arnav to resume her job as a lawyer. She being a lawyer is able to gauge people she could see the real Shyam behind the façade he puts up.
Arnav is naïve and does not know what machinations and illegal activities Shyam and Viraj (the new entrant ) are going to carry out behind his back .Arnav only see’s Shyam as his godfather who helped him when he was in dire straits. Hence he feels he is indebted to Shyam.On the other hand Shyam along with Viraj grabbed this opportunity with both hands so much so that they cornered Arnav into making his past public while standing for elections much against his wishes and he was forced by them to sign on the dotted line .
On the personal front though it looks like kushi has moved on or rather is trying to make her marriage work but she still looks at this marriage as a compromise as she has not accepted Arnav still also because she has not forgotten Aakash because she loved him deeply but he did not reciprocate his feelings . We don’t know much about Aakash so at this point we can’t judge Aakash as to if he had any feelings for kushi if he had then did he back out because of his mom ‘s pressure.
Though at this point of time kushi feels if her father was alive things would have been different her father would have sympathized with her feelings and supported her. But on the contrary because of the absence of her father she was compelled by Garima to get married to Arnav .
On the other hand if we look at kushi’s marriage from Garima’s point of view she took the right decision she already knew what it would be like if kushi got married to Aakash as his mom is a snobbish woman secondly she was aware of Arnav’s feelings for kushi so Arnav is a rich guy.
Last but not least love Anjali’s character in this story she seems to be more mature than kushi she feels kushi is not trying to see the real Arnav as she sees him as a person who is always there to help them as a son, well wisher.she feels kushi should leave her past and try to bridge the gap between her and Arnav and move forward.
