There's a reason that in many countries only thr wife can bring charges of poly marriage. Gender blender can not work here in a country like ours where every 4 out of 10 woman has directly faced physical violence in some form or another from a male close one, be it father/ brother / son / husband / uncle / cousins / in laws and or friends. There's consequences to showing a man hitting a fragile woman.
The basic psychology is in fact different in the two cases. Its traditionally known that women more often hit a man out of helplessness, distress or an act of self defense, while men usually hit a woman to establish power , dominance, intending to over power, subdue or teach a lesson, protect male ego or simply for the heck of it.

A man is more strong than a woman physically, that is a fact, there’s a difference between both the slaps, furthermore if one takes away the gender, prerna was very helpless at the situation, a man who she just had sex with married someone else and then started insulting and abusing her in front of loads of people! His slap was very wel deserved! I doubt prerna even deserved the slap!? Even if she was a man? Furthermore he is also stalking her and setting her bed on fire! It is absolutely disgusting! How can u guys equate pre slapping anu with anu's sweet gesture??? 
if I m not mistaken then pre slapped anu because he was publically humiliating her ,calling her gold digger , questioning her Character, he didn't even leave pre's father
& this all happened after that jungle Wala mangal
here one day before the wedding pre told anu that whatever she has done it's only for anu,heck even Bajaj gave him so many clues
now if he still thinks that pre ne Dhoka dia aur kisi majboori mein Shaadi nhi ki then anu never really trusted her ......& To claim her ,his thappad marna is not at all justified...... He is too weak to digest that pre ab kisi aur ki biwi hai......
