Because that's how grey characters work. Reveal their true self layer by layer over time. Even in reality that's how it works.
No one is asking you to have Bajaj as your man in reality but this constant moral lecture for liking a shady character as per this season needs to really stop now.
Grey characters are all about their journey on how their wrong actions hold in long run. White characters are all about their moral uprightness & ability to fight all evils by keeping their ethics uptight.
I mean Damon started pretty badly but half season 1, Elena was willing to put her life on stake for him even though she didn't fall for him until season 4.
Klaus started as a villain in season 2, by the mid season 3, you are feeling for this man & rooting for him in Season 4. Throughout The Originals, viewers rooted for him to win. Same thing with Elijah. Same with Walter white.
Snape started as a villain & remained so till part 6 where he murdered Dumbeldore. But Book 7,one chapter & he becomes a hero of the franchise to the extent Harry names his son Albus Severus Potter.
Jamie Lannister started on a really bad note, but season 3-8, people were rooting for him.
Prerna is a highly empathetic woman in the show. It is her high empathy that makes her completely irrational at times & Mary Sue wanting to save everyone with the ways they see fit even at cost of sacrificing themselves. One of the rare qualities of such people is that they see hope of positive change in even the darkest of people & are curious to discover the reason behind an individual's coldness. Prerna would be doing the same, try to unmask Bajaj's intentions behind this revenge he had planned for Anu. She can't do it unless she sees layers of Bajaj's character & wonder why would someone do this.
