Since I had been away from ITV for very long time, I had no idea what Maiyya Effect was. My idea about desi shows is stuck in the late 80s and 90s. Some 5-6 years back, I started watching a few desi soaps only because they are now available on the internet. I don't live in India and I don't subscribe to any desi channel. But in the last few years I have learned a lot of things....

that Maiyya Effect has completely invaded the minds of all desi soap makers and also the trp viewers. A handful of viewers still want quality and good content. This minority group of viewers get disappointed over and over because they expect good quality show. I belong to this minority and I can see, most of the people here also belong to this minority group. But unfortunately, the channels, PH and makers are too intoxicated with Maiyya potion. They cannot think beyond rubbish and trash. No matter how they start a show, after a while, they all go down the Maiyya path.

In this show, the roles are reversed. Here HS has been made a SP bahu/beti type. So he is too good, unrealistically good. And the FL is nothing but a parasite and emotional blackmailer which makes her worse than SP Male leads. Another show goes down the drain.

On another note, I think because of the changed time slot, the makers are thinking of starting afresh without Ashok. Hence he is being packed to London. Don't know if Dadu and Beeji will be sent to Timbactoo also. I have a strong feeling another male entry will happen and the CVs will take the ghisa peeta love triangle route.

Today's episode was again emotionally draining. I may sound foolish, but that Hanita scene was so beautiful. I was crying when I saw her condition, and the way he tried to comfort her plus tujhse naaraaz nahi zindagi. That beautiful song, when I hear, automatically I get tears. It always happens to me. That song is itself so beautiful. Somewhere, I feel today's episode(initial part) was really beautiful. Second half was again unbearable.

When HS said that he wont feel bad even if Babita chooses Ashok, I was actually thinking Babita doesn't deserve a man like HS. She only uses him. And our Hs never thinks of himself and always for others. Perhaps, there would be a day, when Hanuman will actually sacrifice Babita. I dont know why I got that feeling in today's scene. I actually hope that Hanita does not happen like this. Because it would be difficult for all of us to handle.....😔

HS's explanation to Lala that he's strong enough to handle all the turmoil made me sure today that he's going to go through storms, hurricanes, cyclones, etc. because of his love for his kiraayedaarni ji. I loved how confident he is of his understanding of her emotions, and how he wants to get to the bottom of it without disturbing her, how he sees her pacing upstairs and his face reflects her anxiety.

Indeed the shawl scene was one of the most beautiful ones of this show. Interesting that he felt confident enough to put his hands on her shoulders, yet the next day he couldn't look directly at her. I loved how he pleaded with her not to ask him for the impossible, not to put his principles on the line.

I loved seeing the angst on his face at the police station, his frustration and his angry tears at being put in this position. I thought I would be disappointed when he did what Babita asked him to, but the way that scene played out made me understand where he was coming from and what his reasoning was.

Aww! The look on poor HS's face in the pre-cap when Ashok was saying he'd change for Babita. He was like apne hi haathon apni khushi kisi aur ki jholi mein daal di. He will probably wonder why he ever listened to Babita but will also reflect upon why she wanted him to do this, why she asked for his trust.

I think Babita wants to give Ashok a chance to reform to ease his parents' pain and to finally be responsible as a husband to Meeta and father to both his children. This way he can have a fixed role as a co-parent in her life, a slot within which she can fit him, and then move on in her life. I do think HS will have more heartbreaks and more than his jealousy, his extreme concern for what damage Ashok could do to Minnie and Babita will make him furious. I think the tables will be turned when Ashok remains calm and HS will be extremely angry with the goings-on.

Aniruddh portrayed a myriad of emotions in this episode. He outdid himself. What a fabulous actor!

@bold, my sentiments exactly! They killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Why did they not have faith in their original vision?

Today's episode was hard to watch but I must say I was still so in awe of HS's character and Aniruddh's performance. I think that and his dynamics with Lala and Naeem bi are what have kept me from quitting this.

I don't want to see Paridhi playing another Jodha in the avatar of Babita, where she's lecturing non-stop and being self-righteous all the time. Please spare us that drivel, CVs. Let her make mistakes, but also learn from them. Let her remained flawed but relatable. Is that too much to ask?

And how could Babita use Imarti's name??? That was when HS melted. I think it was very unfair of her to do that and hit him where it hurts. She not only takes him for granted but also tries to take advantage of his weak point. He's too good for her. 😡

I think Babita protecting HS, knowing Ashok's true nature, how he is malignant . I don't think she wants to go back to him. She just want to make sure he don't take a revenge of HS. She remembered everything he did and said. I think that is why she asked HS to trust her and free Ashok. I think she values everything he did for them, even though not showing it directly.

Could you please tell me what maiyya is? I don’t live in India or understand any Of the languages.

This time change has made me anxious, on previous shows I watched (not many il admit), there is usually a time change whilst the show is on its way out. Hope this isn’t the case because it has soooo much of potential if the writers would only get their head out their backsides, or at least hire a new creative team.

If she were really doing it for that reason (I doubt) she should have been honest and told him the reason so instead of sending the message that shes just using him for favours to get her scumbag x husband out of trouble, cos that’s how it looks. The fact that she used his dead wife’s name is also a pretty low thing to do, knowing how her death bothered him. You don’t remind someone of one of the most painful things to try to get them to do what you want. She has used his dead wife and his feelings and put him in awkward position professionally (his job, being another thing he holds dear that she wants him to compromise). Can you picture babita doing a favour for HS if it compromised her business?

I am not justifying her actions, sometimes people do bold decisions. I just wrote my thoughts... Maybe she has a fear of outcome, what can happen after Ashok comes out. She knows HS very well, and she knows, if she said the reason he won't agree with her. She knew, by making him promise, he will do it. It was wrong of her, that is for sure. I think she had a good intentions, but did it wrong way.

Just watched it.You can give it a try for the sake of H.S!! Anirudh was so good today. If you ask me CVS can handle both meeta and Ashok exit track in amuch much better way.They did not need to take this kind of a melodramatic path for that.Especiallay to make the FL looks very inconsistance. Lets see how and what they are going to show us.

I agree with you about the time slot. Also, Sony is so notorious for giving only short term notice and axing good shows. Although Sony brings in much better shows compared to other channels, but they also ruin their own shows. They totally ruined YPNTKY and also Kuch Rang and Moh Moh ke dhage

I used to like this soap also. But sadly they ended it so abrubtly :(
