being a doctor is a big deal. especially in our families career of a doctor & engineer is encouraged the most. my mom was also very upset with me when i refused to study science in my higher secondary.
This. You said that when you refused to study science in your higher secondary. Does it mean that your major is something other than science in high school?
Good morning everyone 😳

We have science arts and commerce ie 3 streams and in higher secondary we can choose our stream as per our liking nd also marks. But didn't wish to study pure science so I took up a combination of maths stats and economics.

Oh right stream. So, does it mean that people still view the science stream more prestigious rather than the commerce and arts stream?

Why is it like that in the East? It is because they are more difficult to enter? I have a cousin who could go to science stream and his teacher was trying to convince to go to science despite him wanting to go to commerce stream.

Don't know. But my mom is still disappointed that I'm not a doctor or engineer. I often hear how her colleagues children r science students and most of them r doctors and engineers.
