A lone starry night and the weather is turning its tide but somehow even in the torrential rain and wind two people find comfort in each other’s presence.
“Main Jaanta hu tumkia soch rahi ho” Abhir says confidently maybe it’s the weather but something has shifted inside him it doesn’t seem like he will holding anything in tonight.
Misthi is confused all these new found feelings she is developing for a guy are scary. She doesn’t want to acknowledge them because she thinks that voicing them out will make them real. Right now she just wants them to be feelings that are fleeting. She is visibly unsettled and says:
“Kuhu aur Kunal akelay ho gay”
A: Toh rehany doh hosakta hain unnay kuch baat karni ho”
M: Jab baat karnay kayliay kuch bhi na ho toh” this particular line captures Misthi’s internal psyche so beautifully she is wrestling with herself. Her inner turmoil stops her from looking at Abhir she doesn’t look at him when saying this because looking at him will reignite these feelings and right now she rather look away. At this moment the music that’s playing in the background is flawless it heightens the scene. The subtle nuances that Rhea and Shaheer add to their characters is breathtaking. You can literally feel Misthi’s uneasiness because Rhea is doing such a good job of emoting it. Then Shaheer haaye Allah this man his deep voice is his USP, the intensity with which he says the next dialogue:
A:“Khamoshiay bhi bohot kuch kehti hain bas sun na ahana chaiayay”
Abhir as I said is not holding back tonight he is throwing subtle hints. His heart is literally screaming and even Misthi’s heart is debating with her brain if only she would listen. The music shifts and she glances at him and then quickly looks away.The tension between them is palatable. So many things are unsaid but they are being felt by both. Then destiny plays its part the driver that Abhir stops acts like a cupid and says that Abhir has to sit in the back. I loved how respectful Abhir was at first he didn’t try to push any boundaries and jump at the first chance to sit with Misthi only when its absolutely necessary he does so. Although his heart wanted it all along. He steals a glance at her and then the car starts. The scenes shifts to the M family but that’s not important we are only talking about AM here. Part 2 will cover them.
M: Abhir I feel Kunal and Kuhu ki life main already bohot complications chal rahi hain abb humay unki khusiyon kay baaray main sochna chaiyay.
Over here Misthi is voicing her internal conflict she sees her feelings and the budding relationship she has for Abhir as a complication in Kuku’s life. She is frightened to see dreams that she feels might endanger her sister’s happiness.
A: Aur tumhari khusiyon ka kia? Apnay baray main nahi socho gi?
Bear with me because I want to dissect each dialogue today. Yay dono sawaal jo Abhir nay Misthi say puchay hain yay bohot hi ahsaan hain(Both these questions that A has asked Mare very simple) but there answer isn’t simple at all. Misthi tears up a bit and tells him that she can’t put herself first. She feels like she can’t you see she was abandoned by her real family at a tender age. Her trash mother, father,dadi all give up on her and then she stopped wishing for happiness. Then enters Badi Maa and her family who shower with her love. In the real sense Badi Maa and Bade Papa are her family. They car for her like she is their own daughter and as an extension of that she cares about everyone who is associated with them.You know as children we cling to dreams sometimes these dreams are foolish and as we grow older we realize that but somewhere some how Misthi is still that child who clings to the dream of a happy family. She feels like she is indebted to them so she puts their happiness above her own happiness she believes that she will only be happy if her family is happy and that’s all she wants in life,that’s the dream that she is holding on to. But she doesn’t realize that sometimes dreams are like a rope the longer you hold on to it the more it hurts sometimes we just need to let go. Dream a new dream because we all deserve to be happy.
A:“Aur agar kisi ki khusiyan tumhari khuysion say juri hui ho toh”
This is an innocent plea of an innocent heart who is so much in love that he will go crazy. It boggles him that she doesn’t prioritize herself. It’s like his psyche is screaming but I care Misthi I care about your happiness because my happiness is tied to yours. Misthi looks at him and understands what he is really trying to say.You know as a girl its really soothing to hear someone say that hey but think about yourself because in our society most women are conditioned to live their life by thinking about others. Here Misthi has a guy who is telling her to put herself first but her past has such a strong hold on her that her future is making her skeptical and she is so engaged in her internal conflict that she is not even enjoying her present.
She explains:”Abhir pehaly hi sab kuch bohot ulja hua ……..aur jab tumhari Mom ko pata chalay ga”
She is so scared she doesn’t want to cause any hurt to both families.
A:”Main jaanta hu who kaisi react karay gi par yay sab log humarhi khani ka hissa hain”
Abhir is fully prepared for all consequences. He doesn’t give a damn. All these characters are just mere actors in their story but he is trying to make M realize that Misthi and him are the true drivers they can decide the course of their own story if only she agrees.
“Abhir aik khani ban toh rahi hain hum issay aur complicate kyun karay”
Again she is afraid for KUKU. Misthi dear please don’t your sister doesn’t care one bit don’t waste your precious brain cells on her.
“Toh complications kay dar say tum haar maan lo gi”
Abhir challenges her that will you allow such external factors to affect our relationship trajectory.The question really is how far are we willing to go in the name of love. How strong are Misthi’s feelings because loving someone and being in love are two different things.
“Main toh yay maanti hui wohi ho ga jo qismat main likha ho ga”
Pata hain jab insaan apni feelings say bhaag raha hota hain na who hamesha jawab apni qismat main dhoondta hain it’s a fact{Whenever a person is trying to run away from their feelings they try to find answers in destiny). You know why we do it because its easy to blame it on destiny on something that’s written because we are too afraid to choose a course of action. We are scared to take that leap of faith so we start looking for a sign anything that will make the right choice easy for us.
Right on cue it starts raining circumstances force Misthi to move closer to Abhir and her fingers accidentally brush with Abhir’s and it’s such a clear sign from destiny. The universe wants it, Abhir wants it and Misthi also wants it to happen but she is letting fear govern the course of her actions. The beautiful Saathiya song plays and Abhir entwines his fingers with hers and that scene is so small yet so meaningful.
“Main bhi qismat main believe karta hu Misthi aur jab qisamt nay ishaara day dia hain toh main haar nahi maanu ga”
Abhir has choosen his course of action the ball is in Misthi’s court now.
“Abhir main ….mujay badi maa ko sab saach bata dena chaiyay main un say jhoot nahi bol sakti ho”
She is running away from her actual feelings again that Abhir main and then she stops herself from her saying what she really needs to say. She stalls by talking about other peeps.
“Apna saach jaanti ho Misthi?” Again a simple question but the answer for M is so difficult. She is not at the acceptance stage right now she is in denial stage.
“…Main aur jhoot nahi bol sakti” M is referring to kuhu again here
“Aur khud say jhoot bolti raho gi?” She tries to move but he pulls her back and they are level with each other and share an intense eye lock. Abhir won’t let her deny it any longer she has fallen in love too if only she allows herself to fall in. The car stops and the moment breaks and standing in front is their biggest road block Kunal.He watches from a distance shocked by the scene he is witnessing. He feels like a bystander an outsider. Both Am get out and M tries to go away but Abir stops her and holds her back.
“Khud say ladh kar koi jeet nahi paya Misthi tumay saachi accept karni padhay gi” Abhir wants it so desperately but Misthi can’t take it any longer. If she stays she is afraid her feelings will explode and she says I just want to go home back to my solace and her comfort zone. Par Misthi dear jagah badal nay say feelings nahi badaly gi. Tum lakh koshish kar lo tumharay dimaag ko aik din dil kay samany haarnay hi padhay ga because when it comes to the matters of the heart their isn’t much we can do.Yes we can control our reaction to our feelings but we can’t control our feelings no matter how hard we try to and we can’t fight fate. Fate and destiny has so beautifully woven you with Abhir that no one not your family not even you can stop yourself for falling for him. You guys are meant to be together and I know all epic love stories don’t have happy endings but then does destiny ever let true love die. Are not all epic fables so beautifully immortalized?Fate has brought you too him and fate will seal the deal.
Stray thoughts:
No words for the venom Kuhu spewed today I get her anger but not everything is Misthi’s fault. I just hate how kuku will serve to be obstacles in AM’s journey. Kuhu girl please learn some basic manners before proclaiming that you know what true love is.Because your love is just a mere infatuation.
Does Ben Baa not know about AM? If she does what is her motive in not using that information?
It seems like loyalties will shift in the rajvansh household after all a mother has to stand up for her son. TBH its high time Parul needs to take a stand
