Shahid Kapoor was a star after Ishq Vishk, infact he had 2 movies the following year including opposite superstar Kareena!

Shahid has the typical chocolate boy appeal. Ishaan currently has neither the ruggedly handsome look neither a solid cute chocolate boy. He just looks like a young teenager. Maybe as his face matures he will become one of the conventional looking Bollywood heroes types. Right now he is def not unattractive but not mature ruggedly handsome or chocolate boy looking.

Exactly! I read that many people thought that it was the best debut at that time and I totally agree.

Shahid had one of the best debuts ever. He showed a LOT of talent & versatilty in his first film itself. Also, he was really good looking and well Ishaan just isn't..........

In short, Shahid was total hero material and could act really well too.

Agreed he has baby looks

It's not a wrong decision for an actor to debut early in the film industry, Ishaan might have joined BW at a pretty early age and his pace will probably go slow for a while but very soon he can become one of the top actors if he keeps up his dedication. He is blessed with a great acting skill just like his brother and that's enough to grab the attention towards him by the good directors. Also Ishaan's face has a charm, which is not conventionally handsome but attractive. Just wait for a few years and then see how much more mature he looks and can become a sensation too.

He's got so much potential! He should have been cast in SOTY2 instead of Tiger to get to a more mass audience.

If he is linked with janhvi he may get some buzz

Ishq Vishk was actually a hit, not a flop like Dhadak. Oh don't tell me Dhadak wasn't a flop. It made no impact whatsoever.

Shahid got to work with Kareena but she was a major flop star herself, working with everyone from the likes of Tusshar and Fardeen. So it's not really a big achievement for Shahid.

Also he had very little good work for the years following Ishq Vishk, because there were simply no good roles for a boy so young.

You can't compare them with girls because young girls will always find roles. In 30s their roles dry up, whereas this doesn't happen to men. It happens to them after 40s.
