At every turn in his life, Arnav faced only disillusionment and rejection. First his own father never acknowledged his existence. His mother loved him but married Manohar and her love was shared between A and M. Manohar’s love never felt real to Arnav. Priya never loved Manohar. Akash never was in Arnav’s vicinity and Arnav never felt any love for Akash but hated him for getting a family life that was lost to him. Only Payal loved Arnav in her own way and Arnav too loved his step sister.
In school/college he became friends with Aman. Aman’s friendly overtures may have made Arnav accept him whole heartedly without any reserve for he wanted to be loved and accepted for who he was. Aman who loved Arnav like a dear friend, his true well wisher. Alas Aman also introduced him to politics in School into a field that held only deceit and betrayal.
Shyam -Aman introduced Arnav to Shyam. Shyam is an unscrupulous person a smooth and slick talker. Shyam showered almost a paternal affection to Arnav and thus made a place for himself in Arnav’s heart. Arnav felt the entire world shone with Aman and Shyam for they were the people who had been with him, cared for him, protected him when he had no one.
Alas, Arnav could never understand Manohar’s true worth. Manohar actually loved Arnav more than probably Akash because he knew Arnav was vulnerable. His façade a strong man was not lost upon Manohar.
It was for this reason that Manohar managed to convince Khushi to marry his idle son Arnav rather that his ideal son Akash who must have been a much worthier partner for Khushi. Manohar was a bit selfish here ( which is understandable) as he wanted the best for his son Arnav which was Khushi. Khushi with her perceptive brain would be able to protect Arnav from the likes of Aman and Shyam
