Oh that's sad. I hope they get some help too.

But I find it weird the conditions of farmers. If U come to punjab , jk side farmers here r very loaded . I mean in good condition but it is so opposite in other side of country. I have never seen such poor condition of farmers here. Is it lack of natural resources like water?

Why did water suddenly become so scarce in Maharashtra? I don't think it was always like that?

Is it because the state's rich politicians were forcing them to grow water intensive sugarcane in water scarce regions? Sugar barons, rum Lords. ....Biofuel ethanol marketers?

The only way out for India is to start organic agriculture with ancient seeds on a war footing. 5 vedic cows per acre land for fertiliser.

Artificial fertilisers, pesticides etc make soils super thirsty, leach into the water table, kill important and useful micro organisms that not only maintain soil structures but also make essential nutrients available and water available to plants which in turn make food more nutritious for us as well.

yes, there is a scarcity of water...... esp in the eastern part of Maharashtra........but most important is politician apathy is also a main reason.............there is very less training for illiterate farmers.....

There is no proper market, with fair prices. The middleman loot the farmers where produces are purchased at fraction of the market price.....like we give 30-40 rupees for a kg of onion, while the farmers get only 4-5 rupees, rest all is the profit of the middleman......... few farmers are using their brain now and taking the produce to nearby cities themselves.......but farmer's market is not a big thing yet....

Aamir Khan's paani foundation is doing a lot of work in water conservation, but that is not enough....Also there are Marathi celebrities like Nana Patekar and Makrand Anaspure doing their bit...check the link below https://www.thebetterindia.com/34289/nana-patekar-sets-up-a-foundation-to-help-farmers/

but we still need more......
