Feel sorry for her parents. They have got old. One is recovering from cancer. At this time, it is children’s turn to take care of their parents. Here they have a bratty teenager who is in her late forties.
Probably Hritik could have stayed at home for them. But his own family issues must have kept him away. He also have children at impressionable age. So he may not prefer them to stay with an addict. (Her own daughter is raised by her dad).
Unfortunately Indian parents would never want to leave their children alone, if the children are in helpless condition. Even if their energy is drained out, they want to help their children. So here, the ailing parents at their old age are taking care of a tantrum throwing child in its forties, while sensible one stays away from them.
They can’t even say that straight on her face as she has depression issues. Handling a person with mental illness is much more challenging than physical illness for the nearest. By the time she realises their value, it would be too late.
