Zara's sacrifice got less importance on Veer zara movie,

One of my fav movie is Veer Zara , specially the songs of this movie always touch my heart . usually when i watch this movie i always think here zara's sacrifices are not highlighted like veer's . yah , veer ofcourse did a lot for love. but as well as zara also sacrificed her life also for veer's love knowing the fact veer would not come ever in her life again.

Veer passed her 22 years in prison , same zara passed her rest life on veer's village with his parents. sacrifices have done equally from both sides. but i kinda feel in the movie veer is more highlighted than zara , specially after zara's marriage they showed veer's sacrifices visually but zara's was only describing by shaboo about how she called off her marriage by going against her traditional family and husband after listening veer's death n rest.

so it is my take on .. what is yours.

I doubt zaara didnt engage with another man in 22 years.

I wouldn't watch that movie now. Too melodramatic.

Songs are love tho.❤

The story is from Veer's perspective so obviously his plight was highlighted more.

according to the movie , zaara dint .. she passed her 22 years in veer's village with veer's parents and shabbo. never went back on his family again . n after the death of veer's parents she have taken over running the girls' school. So in between she was not.

yah , u are right ... but i wished they highlight zara as well, her story was also heart touching

In that era I believe her story would have been more interesting. To make that sacrifice and to go against her own family must have been very difficult. Realistically even life threatening. But obviously a Yash Chopra movie won't show that.

exactly . i really want to watch her story , how she reacted when heard about veer's death , how she called off her marriage , how she came from her newly married life , how she left her political family specially from her husband ,knowing the fact how much her husband would be dangerous , how she protested , how she came in veer's village , how she started living with veer's family , how veer's parents accepted her.. so many stories could rise around , yes they could make a strong plot for zara also .

I love this movie. It was on tv couple of weeks ago and I couldn't catch it there. But it kept running on my mind and i saw it last weekend on amazon. This movie is so intense and i love the parts after Zaara returns to pakistan.

Coming to your question, I don't think so. Infact, that was the surprising twist in the movie that made everything more beautiful. Her sacrifice didn't get the screentime like veer's coz it was to be kept under wrap. At the end of the movie, i could feel for both the protagonist and their love for each other.

I think bcz it was supposed to come as a twist. You see veer saying qubool hai to the police as Zara says qubool hai in her wedding. Thus we move on in the story thinking she's married n sad they can't really unite even if he gets out. But then it comes as. A happy surprise that she is still waiting for him n left everything to honor his love.

I feel like veer Zara is. One of the least problematic love stories ever in be,both characters r decent people. But I always wished they gave a lil more days to the days in India where they fell in love . Cause doing this many sacrifices. For someone u knew for 2 days, doesn't happen
