Like Pranu said, Veer must have gotten into a strong belief that Mishti must be into another guy to break their relationship. He could be following her too, who knows... Coz he did do a spy kinda check up after he spots Mishti taking a lift in Ruhaan's car. So he's capable of it.

With his mother's words making a strong impact, he is getting influenced to think only in that angle, I guess.
