Just the begining of debacle of super power nation, US?

- Elections on hand without clear cut leadership focusing on economic growth?

- Indications on definate recession, even though Govt term it as slow down.

- Constant hit on currency

- Gas pricing on rise day by day, leading to asured inflation

Do you these are the indication of downfall of current super power - United States?

well kehno koh tho kuch bhi ho sakta hei but what is the definition of a superpower?

some would say the country's treasury, it that case US has already lost superpower status it is running a major deficit with the Iraqi war...

some say military strength, well the US currently the world leader in nuclear weapons, it has about 1000 more nuclear warheads than any other country, inlcuding Russia...with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty it will take a LONG time for any other country to catch up..

so basically- it all depends 😳

Actually all three front runners McCain, Obama and Clinton have a decent economic plan. I will agree it is not the best but there are so many stratas of income to cater to and so much ruined by the Bush govt that the ideal plan is hard to find.

USA recovered marvelously from the Great Depression. Even Bill Clinton had to deal with recession when he came to power. A strong economic plan and good leadership can lift any country. Germany and France were wrecked after WWII, Japan was even worse and occupied by Americans for ages. They all built their economies. Building an economy is difficult not impossible.

Finally I have my fool proof retirement plan. When I am retirement age I will see which country gives me most bang for the dollar. Convert all my dollars to local currency and move. Currently it looks like I will be residing in a nice beach house in Accra.

Actually you are right. Currently 1 dollar gets only .98 in Ghanan cedi. Which means Ghanan cedi is stronger than the dollar. Even considering cost of living in ghana is low, that is bad. At the rate of US economy looks like I will be retiring in Somalia. beach house in Mogadishu.

ghanan cedis seem to be like rare stamps. cant find one, so the few there are have some value in international markets.😉 😆
