I have read that book, Sweetz... But I've seen mother's asking for 2kgs of gold, 1 Jaguar car worth of 1 crore , and 2 crores in cash here in South. So I'm just speaking of my experiences...

Arey, sorry ki Kya baat hai yaar? 🤗thats what I said na, different experiences make us think differently.

I don't deny that there are a bunch of people like that too. I don't understand their demand for so much in the form of dowry, which is illegal when they can earn so much themselves. Good to know you are from South too 😊

Not just in south. They have some kind of superiority complex as if they are doing you a favour by agreeing to marry their son to your daughter. I’m not from south but have seen this high handed behaviour in would be mother in laws. I think the fathers are more grounded. Sometimes the boy also is like that. Overtly polite and understanding but with hidden undercurrents that you can make out after you talk to them a few times.
