Honestly in past few years TRP just isn't what it used to be. Nowadays most people watch everything online.

I mean I'm just thinking about my extended fam in India and their neighbours. When I was a kid and we used to go to India, everyone sat around the TV at exactly 7 PM for a show, then at 9, then again at 10. A few years after that, with repeats becoming more popular, we would just watch it on repeat during the afternoon and often this was when we were visiting/playing with neighbours or other relatives. Then a few years after that it became recorded and watched later. Now it's to the point where my grandma is the only one who watches something at its correct time and even she doesn't really care for any of the stories that much. Everyone else watches it on demand or online.

Exactly , online viewers , people record n watch later n sometime repeats if it comes on time . As I said viewership has changed in last 3-4 yrs

I think cable subscription is actually going down, and not just in India. For shows like these especially, the target audience is the 18-40 or so demo, and most of the people in that age group have migrated to mobile and various apps. I just hope tptb don’t get pressured into turning the show into a saas-bahu drama.

I wonder how Kasauti manages to gest that much rating.. Still prerna doesn't show up her pregnancy symptoms which she knew before Holi and now, she would have got 4th month atleast. for someone of thin personality as of Prerna the stomach will be visibly big but here no one gets an ounce of doubt???? No offence to the fans... just trying to get to understand the logic...

What matters is show has to be a slot leader ,ebss should get highest rating at 7pm slot ie all . Show will run altleast for one year.

I don’t watch that show, but to play devil’s advocate, how many cases have we read of women going into delivery not knowing they were pregnant? So with careful planning, deceiving others isn’t a big deal. 😆

I was looking at the trp chart, and without naming names, our show deserves a higher rating than some of the other shows in the list, but it is what it is, sigh.

@ Bold: Thing is you are basing your theory on what a logical viewer should see. But many of the TRP viewers are our mothers and grandmothers who either watch such saas-bahu dramas with gusto or who just have it playing in the background to give them company. And some of these shows have the ability to hook you in once you start a track.

I watched the whole EMA revelation track on SBRK recently because I accidentally watched an episode. I was curious. I wanted to know how Mauli finds out about the EMA and what her reaction was. It hooked me in. But once that track sort of ended, I just moved on. Still imagine that on TV. For a few weeks at least, SBRK would have gotten my TRP if I was in India and watching at the official time.

Along with the slot, how long the show runs also depends upon cost of production I guess.i have seen many show performing above 1 going off air even when show Below 1 continue to air.

Sathiya has been the only successful show for star at 7p.m. slot I guess. Saw in one of the SPA star executive claiming how sathiya & sasural Genda phool made 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. prime time slot which earlier wasn't the case.

Being slot leader won't matter. Star was the only channel to be benefitted from the TRAI regulations imposition.

There may be many reasons why some feel this is the best show & deserves more & vice versa but what exactly work for trp audience no one knows.

As much as we say internet penetration in India is about 34% of population while TV is around 70-80%. Of all those accessible to internet how many would watch a daily soap. So saying people watching it on internet is the reason for dip in number's on TV ain't correct.

SSBRK did come in top 10 in barc list in the week of ema revelation track & stayed in top 15 for around a month before makers & channel messed up with time slot & divine love

Yes I guess it will improve we can only hope because this show indeed deserve good rating And it’s good to have consistent story , not keep changing due to TRP I m loving the pace thrill suspense and drama and an amazing acting of Shrenu along with everyone

I will be very happy if it runs for one year or more and I think it will
