Shaheer Sheikh is a perfect fit for Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke: Producer Rajan Shahi

At a time when most new launches have been quite lackluster, producer Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke on Star Plus has done comparatively much better.

“Although I don’t have technical details, number have come down across the board due to the subscription system still being fine-tuned. In some areas, certain channels are not yet available and subscribers have also not chosen their favourite. So it will take a little bit of more time for things to get back to normal.”

“In this above scenario, I can say I am satisfied with the initial run of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. Having confidence in our product, we took the risk of first establishing our respective characters, rather than going for high drama first up. Ideally, any show should be given some time to find its feet, but today broadcasters want ratings from day 1, hence storyboards move from high point to high point.”

Talking about lead actor Shaheer Sheikh, he says, “He was the ideal fit, given that he is not only what our character demanded, but is very popular as well. He was in Indonesia when the casting process happened over the phone. It did not take more than three or four calls to seal the deal. Soon he came back home and signed the contract.”

Ask whether Shaheer’s recent track record (Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali sank without a trace) did not act as a deterrent, to which he replies, “Our casting is never based on an actor’s last TRP. Like I said, he or she should fit my bill, period. Also, it would be wrong to either credit or blame any actor on a show’s success or otherwise, which is always the result of teamwork.”

I agree. DEM was interesting in the beginning but writers spoiled it. I still miss Salim and specially Anarkali.

And yes Shaheer is the perfect choice.

Are you sure only writers spoilt it.

Channel brought a snake in the garland a vfx one which grew from the flowers during the jay mala ceremony in another show on colors

If Shaheer did point out loopholes in the script. No one in this so called channel will ever listen to him. In every colors mythology or historical show, the creative producer goes and actually lives in that particular century, comes back and gives their own version.

That is how Ashoka also shut down, channel made their version.

It was his bad luck. Not only DEM , since 2017 everything is topsy turvy out there, the story continues

What kind of questions are they asking on Shaheer ? DEM had big budget, sets and actors without proper script. It's script for failure and NOT Shaheer. Even Kalank failed for same reasons.

Good thing, makers aware that serial is just doing OK that needs work on.

Whatever be the reason but not shaheer he did performed well...they script is very worst cant connect with the show though watched it till the end because of shaheer performance he is the only solace in that show, they gave so much importance to anarkali, and her character was written as current ITV bahus.Even in today's era there is class difference then think about 15th century, they failed to make the show as 15th century show

What has the low TRP of DEM got to do with taking Shaheer on board for the show. Stupid question to ask. Actors job is to act and do what they are being provided with. Shaheer did his job with utmost sincerity. If the script is weak than noone can save any show. Yrhpk is a good show and good news is that the creatives are awake now and have focused more on the story.
