Final Chapter

Mehek was utterly shocked. She turned her head towards Sonal... looking at the glittering beautiful ring on her ring finger she asked in awe " he proposed you?"

Sonal nodded her head vigorously ...a bright smile on her face...she forwarded her hand towards Mehek to give a better view of her ring. Mehek hold Sonal's hand to see the ring closely

" its beautiful ", mehek said in awe. Then both the best friend started squeal like crazy school girl.

After some crazy happy dancing, they settled on the bed side by side.

" when are you two planning to disclose the news to our and your parents ", Mehek asked.

" Shravan is getting a promotion next month, so after that we are planning to inform our parents that we want to get married ", Sonal said coyly.

" ohho.. mere hone wali bhabhi...abhi se hi sharma rahi hai", Mehek teased sonal earning a light slap on her arm.

" but what about your new job, did Shravan know about it", Mehek asked. Sonal got a job offer from a bigger fashion house which is in Mumbai. She have to sign 2 years contract with them and has to stay in Mumbai .

Sonal shook her head. "I am planning to say no to them", Sonal said thoughtfully.

" but its really a big opportunity for you.", Mehek said wondering.

" yap i know, but i don't want to leave delhi, leave my parents, Shravan..you, i know it might be really big opportunity to boost up my career...but i am happy and satisfied with what i have now.. i don't want to stay far from you all", Sonal explained.

Mehek hugged Sonal tightly saying " if you are happy then i am happy "

"Meri baat chor ..when are you planning to tell him what you just realised some moments before ", Sonal asked wiggling her eyebrow.

Mehek sighed " As soon as he will come back..." "yaar ye saat din kaab khatam hogi", Mehek whined.

" have patience my laila...4 more days...then your majnu will be in your arm", Sonal said giggling earning a soft slap on head by mehek.

" yap 4 more days, come back soon Shaurya", Mehek mused.

The next day, Mehek passed the day without doing much mistakes. She was loving the feeling of being in love. When her shift was about to end, a waiter came to mehek and said Rajeev sir has summoned her in his cabin. She went to Rajeev sir's cabin and knocked. A voice came from inside " come in".

Mehek slowly opened the door and her jaw dropped to see the sight in front of her. Rajeev Sir was sitting on his usual chair. In front of him their was sitting her bhai Shravan and on the couch near the table sitting Karuna mam and chef kanta. Everyone's head turned towards Mehek. Mehek gulped her saliva.." ye saab ek saath yaha kya kar rahe hain...kya Sonal ne bhai ko sab bata dia..sonal teri to khair nehi...hey matarani...raksha karna", blabbering to herself she moved towards the table.

" Mehek, please take a seat ", Rajeev ordered.

Mehek looked at Shaurya's mom and greeted her before taking the seat near her brother nervously. She looked at her brother confused but she couldn't discover anything by his facial expression.

Rajeev began " Mehek we are planning surprise birthday party for Shaurya which is in next Saturday. So chef Kanta wants you to bake and decorate the cake solely by you... "

Mehek mentally sighed in relief that it was nothing about her and shaurya. She looked at Rajeev Sir and chef Kanta and thanked them to give her the opportunity.

" Shravan is helping with inviting their colleagues and i will invite Shaurya's school college friends i know", Rajeev said to his mother.

After some more discussion the meeting was came to an end. The party will be held on wc. Mehek was leaving with Shravan when Karuna called her back.

" Mehek you will attend the party as Shaurya's guest..not as chef of wc..and will bring Sonal and Nehal also..Shaurya always keep talking about you....all ", Karuna said to Mehek lovingly patting her cheek .

Mehek blushed and nodded in "ok".

At night, Mehek was thinking about what to gift Shaurya. She searched in some online shop and choose a watch to gift him and order it online. She also planned to confess her feelings to Shaurya on his birthday night. Thinking about Shaurya she drifted to sleep hugging the unicorn Shaurya gifted her.

Finally Saturday came. Mehek woke up early that morning than as usual and checked her dress which she was planning to wear at the party. She choose a maroon bottleneck top with maroon long flowy skirt . Mehek went to wc early as she has to prepare Shaurya's birthday cake and also have to decorate the two storeyed cake beautifully. She wants it to came out perfect and in past 4 days she experimented lots of unique designs and selected the best from them. She was busy all day preparing the cake.

Shaurya's flight landed at 3pm. After reaching home, the first thing he did was checking his mobile that if there was any call or messages from Mehek but to his dissapointment...there was no message or missed call. Then he called her but no response. " oh God where is the girl, she is not even receiving my call... has she forgotten me in this one week.", he blabbered to himself. Shaurya was sad that Mehek didn't send him even a birthday wish. Shaurya missed Mehek like hell in this seven days. He could call her escaping from his friends But he refrained himself hoping that she may sort out her feelings for him in this 7 days. But now he is panicking thinking his plan might backfired.He got freshened up and took some rest. Then he was getting ready to go at Mehek's home when he heard a knock at his door. Its Shaurya's mother Karuna who came with a file and said Rajeev forgot this file at home. He needed it now and asked Shaurya to deliver it to him. He nodded and taking the file went to wc.

When Shaurya arrived at White Chillies...it seemed really silent from any other day and the lights were also off though it was just 7 pm.He entered confusedly. All the lights turned on suddenly and all his friends and colleagues shouted Happy birthday . He was flabbergasted to see all the arrangement.

He was surrounded by his friends but his desperate eyes were looking for a certain someone. Sonal noticed it.. she went towards him to wish and then whispered to him

" she is on the way... will be here soon"

Shaurya was chit chatting with his friends but his eyes remained on door. Suddenly the door open and Mehek came in hastily as she sensed she was already late and her eyes started to roam around the room to find Shaurya. When their eyes met ... their face lit up like 100watt bulb. Shaurya excused himself and forwarded towards Mehek.Their eyes were not leaving each other. Shaurya was looking handsome as usual wearing a black button up shirt tucked in a pair of black denim. The few upper buttons were undone which was giving a great sight of his tanned chest.Mehek wanted to run through the distance between them and jumped into Shaurya's arm and confess her love. But among so many peoples she was controlling hard her emotions seeing him after the longest 7 days of her life. When finally they were face to face and Mehek was about to wish him but Shaurya feigned an act that he didn't notice her and passed her to went to some of his friend. Mehek's jaw dropped and a scowl covered her beautiful face " did he forget me in this one week ..", Mehek mused shaking her head. She proceeded to go behind Shaurya and talk to him but Shaurya was surrounded by so many of his friends. Mehek stood with Sonal but her eyes were tracking Shaurya's movement every second. Shaurya was also watching Mehek from the corner of his eyes and enjoying to see her restlessness and pouty face. Shaurya was enjoying the teasing game and with every minute passed Mehek becoming more frustrated to see his ignorance towards her. Hours passed... cake had been cut.. but Mehek couldn't make it to talk to him.

The light got dimmed and the DJ invited the people to shake their leg on the dance floor. It started with a slow song . Slowly the couples were started to move towards the dance floor. Shaurya was standing with Shravan on the opposite side of the room. Sonal went towards Shravan and whined for a dance in which Shravan easily gave in. Shaurya was now standing alone. His eyes roam to the place where Mehek was standing some moments ago but she was not there now. His eyes roam around the room but she was no where " sh**. may be i feigned the act of ignorance too much that she left", Shaurya mused and began to search her desperately.

While searching for Mehek he came in a rather silent corner of wc ... he felt a strong pull on his wrist... before he could understand anything ... Mehek was yanking him towards a back exit. After came out in a safe distance from party, she left his wrist and enveloped him in a bone crushing hug. Shaurya was totally surprised by her action but he was on cloud nine feeling the love of his life in his arms. Mehek pulled back from the hug after some moments and began to hit Shaurya on his chest. Shaurya was now confused about her sudden change of mood.

" ouch.. ouch...stop it ...what have i done", Shaurya managed to utter while trying to save himself from her hitting.

"Why are you avoiding me all the evening.. i have been roaming to talk to you and you idiot", saying she again started to hit him.

Shaurya got hold of her wrist and stopped her from further hitting. Mehek was struggling to free her hand but of no use.

" i am avoiding you..huh?..and you didn't even left me a message or this afternoon didn't receive my call ... not even a birthday wish..what was that", shaurya accused her back.

" if i messaged you..who would read it..ghost?...you left your mobile here and this afternoon i was busy in making your birthday cake.. i left mobile in locker room.. but as soon as i reached here i tried to wish you na" , Mehek pouted which melt Shaurya and he gave her a soft smile. Mehek smiled back still looking into his eyes. She gave a box wrapped in a silver wrapping paper to Shaurya saying " Happy Birthday ". Shaurya took the box and happily asked "for me?" " no for your friend abhay ", mehek said sarcastically.

Shaurya opened the box and his face lit up "its really cool.... i was in need of one"

" you like it", mehek asked meekly. Shaurya nodded his head vigorously and told her to help him wearing it. After wearing the watch he grinned at her " Thank you... lets get back to the party??", saying this he bagan to head towards the door. Mehek quickly stopped him holding his arm. Shaurya raised his eyebrow questioning what.

"I ... i ... i want to tell you something ", Mehek stammered. Shaurya gestured her to proceed. Mehek started fidgeting with her hand. "Is there any problem ", Shaurya looked at her concerned.

Mehek shook her head." I... i ..i missed you". Shaurya took a step forward and cupped her cheek with his callous hand. His hand left her cheek and slide through her shoulders, arm and rested on her waist. He pulled her towards him and kissed the tip of her nose " i missed you too".

Then he rested his forhead against her. Their nose touching.Closing their eyes they were savouring their closeness. In his embrace Mehek calmed. "Shaurya ", her voice came out shaky.

"Mmm"

" i love you", Mehek said timidly. Shaurya couldn't believe his ear. He pulled a little from her to see if he was dreaming or anything. Mehek eyes were still closed and her head down. Shaurya placed his finger under her chin and made her to look into his eyes.."say again", his voice was raspy which creating a shiver in her spine. Mehek looked into his eyes "I love you Shaurya"

Shaurya's face was getting closer towards her "say again".Mehek's breath quicken "i love you" , She confessed again and with that Shaurya's lip fall on her, kissing her softly. His tongue gently tracing the border of her lower lip..begging for entrance in her mouth. Mehek let out a soft moan which gave shaurya the access of savouring every corner of her mouth. The kiss which started slowly within second become a heated and passionate one. They are trying to show their love, longingness for each other with this one kiss but it seems not enough.

They broke apart abruptly by the sound of a breaking glass. They both looked at the direction to find the source of the sound. Shaurya's face fall and Mehek's face became pale to see Shravan standing there boiling with anger. Before Mehek could utter anything, Shravan took two long strides and punch hard on Shaurya's jaw. Blood oozed from the corner of his lips.

" You bloody scoundrel , i thought you as my friend and you are taking advantage of my sister behind my back", Shravan clutched Shaurya's collar to punch him more.

" please bhai stop it ... get off of him...plzz bhai", Mehek trying hard to detach them, tears rolling from her eyes.

" Bhai please stop.. you are misunderstanding...i love him...", Mehek said between her sobs.Shravan looked at Mehek shocked and more anger strike in his eyes. " Love my foot... you don't know anything about him", Shravan lashed out.

" Shravan please listen to me", Shaurya tried to make him listen but Shravan was in no mood and clutching him harder. "Shravan..stop it ...stop it", Sonal came and with Mehek, she detached Shravan from Shaurya. "Shravan have you lost your sense..what the hell are you doing..", Sonal hissed in anger. "Stay out of this", Shravan lashed at Sonal.

"Mehek and Shaurya love each other.. what's your problem...just that you don't like the idea of your friend and sister together...that's it..", Sonal retorted.

" oh wow.. you knew everything and kept it from me..and may be also encouraging Mehek... ", Shravan accused sonal.

" They both are adults..they don't need your permission to fall in love...stop acting childish ", Sonal shook her head in disdain which angered Shravan more.

" you better shut your mouth.. this is between me and my sister...", Shravan hissed.

" wow.. all of a sudden i am an outsider to you", a tear fall out from Sonal's eye. "Fine..better it be like this... i am done with you Shravan Sharma", saying this she pull out the ring and threw it to Shravan, tear flowing down from her cheeks..She ran away from the place. Shravan stood there dumbfounded.

Mehek gasped, trying to stop Sonal, pleading his brother to stop her. Shravan hold Mehek's wrist and proceeded to take her from there.

"Shravan please stop, try to understand, i really love mehek ", Shaurya came in front of them.

"Ya ya why not..until yesterday, you were in love with some other girl.. and now all of a sudden you love Mehek... wow", Shravan said with disgust.

Mehek looked at Shaurya in utter shock.

" you know Mehek from the day i know him .. he was going ga ga over some girl that kissed him and flew away ...he was acting that his happiness depends on her and now all of a sudden he is after you..and i am very much sure after some time it will be someone else..", he looked at Shaurya disgustingly.

Mehek shook her head in disdain " stop it bhai.. stop throw false accusations on him.. you know what"..Mehek took a deep breath and look at her brother " that was me who kissed him in a cafe.. in all this time... he was talking about me..he was searching me.. he loves me..he cares for me and i love him too"

Shravan's jaw dropped and he looked between Mehek and Shaurya in shock.

" that time it was a stupid dare for me... but when i again met him, i came to know more about him.. i have fallen in love.. bhai please try to understand... we didn't want to hurt you", Mehek looked pleadingly at her brother.

Shravan sighed in frustration.

" Shravan in all this time.. it was only mehek.. i love her.. it will stay always like this", Shaurya told him.

Shravan looked dagger at Shaurya " its better be stay like this.. if you ever hurt my little sister.. i will not spare you.."..

A relief washed over Mehek and Shaurya. Shaurya came forward holding Mehek's hand.. said to Shravan " i promise i will never hurt her.. i will always protect and support her and will always love her"

Shravan patted Mehek's head lovingly. Mehek gave him a smile assuring him everything will be alright. " Bhai please go after Sonal.. i don't want your relationship to ruin because of us".

Shravan sighed and nodded " i acted as an idiot .. i better go look for her"...then he patted Shaurya's shoulder " sorry buddy... Take care of my little sister " , saying this he left.

Mehek rested her head on Shaurya's chest in relief..looking at the direction where her bhai has just disappeared " everything will be alright na?" , she asked.

Shaurya kissed top of her head " they both are impetuous.. but they love each other very much...it may take some time but everything will be ok.. don't worry jaan"..

Mehek couldn't stop her giggle. She looked at him "say it again "

" Don't worry jaan", Shaurya repeated as per demand of her lady love.

Mehek hugged Shaurya tightly which Shaurya responded with same enthusiasm

" i love it when you called me jaan"...

Closing her eyes... enveloped by the warm hug of the love of her life mehek thought " may be it is the start of her happily ever after".

Pheww... finally it came to an end.. my first ever story...i have planned to write 5 chapters but don't how it become a 10 chapter story. Thank you so much for all your likes, comments, motivations.
