Why people are so obsessed with Aishwarya's miss world success?

There are many actreses that came from beauty competition but her fans make it look like Miss World made her star overnight. PC also came from Miss World but I don't see her fans always use that to make her look like a star like Aishwarya's fans does and I don't think Miss World title or any other beauty contest title can make anybody star if they can't act. Manushi is also the winner of Miss World but there is hardly any hype about her now. Aishwarya's fans bash Salman all the time but he definety helped her career. He recommended her for Hum Dil De Chuke Hai Sanam. Before that movie, she did 2 flop movies with Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna and nobody cared about her. She never had box office success like Sridevi, Madhuri, Kajol, Karishma, DP, Kat or even like Alia. On her entire career, she only had 6 hits out of 30 something BW movies that she did. All her last movies Jazbaa, Sarbjit and Fanny Khan were flop but her fans are still living on her Miss World time, which was like 25 years ago.

Because out of all them beauty queens, she is still the prettiest <333

People aren't, her PR is. World's Most Beautiful tag has been her USP since she started her career.

I am not taking about other language movies. I am only talking about BW movies. Bride and Prejudice was not hit. In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Mohabbatein and Khakee, she did supporting role. Her presence didn't make much difference when there are other big stars on those movies. On some other thread, somebody said that Ash only had 6 hits. She might be the most beautiful actress in BW but her acting is very weak. If she is so famous, then she wouldn't stay in the limelight by using her daughter all the time.

She definitely has got personality and aura. As for films, she had been offered Raja Hindustani even before she won Miss World. She got the offers from big filmmakers like Maniratnam and Shankar from the very beginning. She had rejected Shankar's Hindustani too and KKHH. So she never had lack of big offers, whatever she got it's totally on her own. However, she isn't the best of the actresses and liked her dances only in the later phase of her career. But she is exceptionally beautiful and no one can ignore that when it comes to visual medium.

Just because she was offered Raja Hindustani doesn't mean that it would've become hit if she was on it. I only watched that movie because of Aamir-Karishma's chemistry and Karishma nailed her character. I don't think Ash would've have good chemistry with Aamir and she couldn't act that great like Karishma on that movie. She might had lot of offers but she can't bring crowd and she never had box office success. Even now, she is getting offers but all her recent movies as a leading actress flopped.
