Part 37
G-You don't understand how complicated all of it is
M-Its complicated coz you want it to be! Coz you want to dwell in your pathetic misery! You don't even know C of the word complicated!
Her eyes are welling with tears
Maan says and then walks away from her a few steps to take a few deep breaths to calm himself down
His emotional state takes him back to his past where it all started:
Maan was from a simple lower middleclass family
He went to local public school so did his sister
He was always a bit serious kinds because their family was less than middle class, but still he loved having fun coz he learned to enjoy small things
He wasn't angry or miserable that why aren't we rich or have toys and privileges every other kid has
His sister sometimes cribbed but she was tomboy and didn't really care about girly things
But they used to get by. They were happy
He had his parents when he was young till around 13
His dad early because of some disease
So that's why their money condition wasn't always so great
Then when he was 14-15 his mother passed away
His mother was from a rich family; practically aristocrat and she had run away from home, severed her ties from her family to be with her lover
The mother dies coz she had been burning her candle at both ends and was finally too tired and consumed and over worked..
So there they were two kids now on the streets
Maan left his school and education to work and take care of sis.
He didn't want to go to the foster care system
Maan's mom had contacted her father just before dying to come take care of Maan and sis but the kids moved away
So it took the grandfather some time locating them
In the past however, Maan ki mom ghar se bhagi toh thi but not for Maan's dad
She ran from home coz of Akhil's dad and him being an a**hole was using her and playing with her
When he learned that she isn't rich anymore he dumped her on the streets
That's when Maan's dad came to her aid
She wasn't expecting her life to be as luxurious as she left home but better than a 2 room place where she lived with her poor husband
She had big ego too, so she never went back
When Maan & his his sis were growing up, their mom would mutter to herself and complaint to herself and curse Akhil's father
For Akhil's father she was his toy. He thought she was a rich heiress but when she ignored her inheritance he dropped her like a hot plate
After spending 1.5 years on the street fending for their owN; Maan was now 17 and half and his kid sis she was just going to be 13
They were found by the grand father
So he took them away abroad
They were a mess...scrawny rude...dirty
Maan was somewhat a little bit jaded
The sis was fine and the situation was savable
Grandfather sent the sis to a boarding school so she can leave behind her tomboyish and street urchin ways and learn to be a proper lady
The sis cried coz she didn't wanted to be separated from Maan
When grandfather decided to send Maan off to school, Maan took rebellion to whole new level
He felt like charity and ...however bad their conduit had been; their mother had never begged... there had been dignity...which he didn't feel anymore while mooching off and living like a prince with his grandfather
Grandfather also had his own problems but it was lessoned after his daughter aka Maan's mom ran off
So he had a little attitude adjustment
It took three of them several years to have peaceful meal without any shouting, fighting, crockery breaking and table leaving
Maan had refused to go to school so while they were still in adjustment phase Gramps thought to teach Maan a lesson
He sent him off to work in some bad hard labor and tough job conditions
But he forgot that Maan had been surviving on his own and taking care of his sis
So Maan survived the horror job and also made some smart comments about the administrative faults with the place he worked at
So Gramps thought the boy was natural and he knew business
He changed tactics; became politer gentler, more understanding and mostly more patient with Maan's rebellion; to change to accept to adjust
Maan started working and made some deals and talks
Gramps tried to make Maan agree to get a degree in business by correspondence finish school
Maan rebelled but then gramps convinced the sis to beg him; and Maan more or less did almost everything for her only
She Maan had to agree
The gramps and his riches. He was the owner of a hotel chain; they had like about 8-10 very successful top class hotels in major cities of all the major countries
Maan got into business saara dhyan laga kar and he was naturally good and he started fast expansion of it and his gramps told him to slow down
But Maan wanted to be big and best coz deep down he had the insecurity that he will never have enough...coz he had lived through what it felt like to not have enough
He didn't want himself or his family ever going through that again
Plus, getting accepted in society was a bit difficult for him. He did make some friends but very selected few
He also became friends with his gramps too, many years later
He learned a bit about society and a lot about women
He never had time for girls before and they hadn't cared a fig about him
But now... he had to look for 10 seconds at someone and she would throw herself at him
It dazed him amazed him in he beginning
But he soon learned that these girls were just users who wanted to catch a rich guy, just like the loser who had destroyed his mother's life
It was the double standards which got to him and he somewhere along the way swore that he would teach the bas***d a lesson for doing what he did
Granted if his mother wouldn't have run away Maan wouldn't have been born but...she died...coz she wasn't meant for the type of life she lived and she couldn't even ask for help coz he had made her feel so degraded that she didn't want her own father to see how low and undignified and fallen she had become
Somehow he could put the blame of his mother's death on them but it was just anger and resentment simmering the back of his mind
He never made plans...but had this wish
After few years:
The sis is out of school goes to college in some other place
She wants to be there
Maan was handling the business
The sis was intelligent and sweet and beautiful elegant graceful poised and rich and a tiny winy bit spoiled and still a bit of wild tomboy
During her college days the sis met Akhil
It was like father, like son
Akhil found this girl who wasn't half bad looking ... partial to adventure and exploration open minded and uber rich
The sis is just 19-20
So Akhil starts dating her charming her
She tells Maan about this super nice guy who is paying attention to her
She tells him the name
Something rings warning bells too but he can't exactly point out what
Maan tells her to stop seeing him
But she wanted to see Akhil even more just coz she was told not too
Besides she was just dating him, not getting intimate or anything...in her opinion
Maan became strict, ordered her and shouted at her to stop all this
She became more rebellious
