Chapter 70: A love for life (A)
Geet tiptoed through the darkness, the cold marbled floor and the freezing air rushed her movements to her bed. Once in, she immediately pushed closer to Maan, her cold hands creeping to his waist.
'Geet' he complained in sleep trying to remove her icy hands
'Maan I'm cold' she moaned pushing closer so now her head rested on his back and her hands entered into his T-shirt feeling his heated skin, he sighed but still slept; allowing her to warm up against him.
'I hate going to the bathroom' she mumbled intervening her legs between his, making it harder for him to ignore.
'Wear slippers next time' he ordered instead with closed eyes, his hands rubbing against hers that were still on his torso.
'Maaan' she seduced next
'GO TO SLEEP GEET' he ordered louder than a whisper but quieter than a scream. She huffed but payed heed to his words and slowly drifted to a wonderland as did he. The next day was important for both of them.
'Morning sleep head' he kissed her awake and then rubbed her head trying to remove the last remnants of sleep
'Maan let me sleep please' she moved away from his commanding voice and slept closer to the edge giving him the perfect opportunity to grab onto her and carry her to the bathroom
'Maaan' she screamed now feeling warm water hit her unexpected body, she stood in the shower and he on the other side of the glass panel smiling all dressed up.
'Hurry up, we leave in an hour' he ordered with a smile and walked out the bathroom, closing the door on the way out while she fretted and moaned.
'I don't want to wear that' she complained sitting on the bed in grumpiness, on the bed Maan lay out a washed out denim with a green t-shirt, her look of the day but obviously she just had to object.
'Fine you choose, future fashion designer' he mocked ignoring her accusing looks and focused on tying his tie, a few nights ago Geet had finally let out the secret. She was to study Fashion and Designs at Delhi University, apparently the only course she felt close to. Of course that and the fact that she enjoyed clothes, no matter how hard Maan tried to change her mind to study a course related to his company, it didn't work; not the bribing, nor the kissing and definitely not the threatening. So right now, he was helpful but still a little sour.
'Geet what are you doing?' he asked seeing her get up and pick out a midi-skirt and a plan white t-shirt instead. While he stared stunned seeing her out-rightly reject his clothes, she moved along unbothered and continued dressing. This was officially the first time were she didn't wait for him to change the outfits according to her liking, instead she rummaged through and caused a mini chaos annoying him more.
'I'm not cleaning that' he pointed towards the pile of clothes in the middle on the bed with a frown, exactly, this was the reason he preferred to take care of his little wife's daily needs or else she was like a hurricane, causing harm as she passed by.
'Maan don't be mean, todays my first class and you being rude would only force my mind to wonder' she reprimanded lining her lip with gloss, he stood at the back with a look of annoyance but found himself still collecting her items and dumping them back in the cupboard.
'Before you start, I'll sort them out when we return later' he interjected between her gasps and movements.
'You know you're the best husband in the whole ENTIRE world' she spoke clinging to his neck and he smiled pushing forward, a kiss was surely a rightful reward.
'Meera' Vicky screamed as Maan and Geet walked downstairs hand in hand
'All ready?' Dadima asked ignoring Meera and Vicky's little scuffle and focused on Geet's happy face nodding viciously and Maan's frown
'Meera wants to start working with Vicky' Dadima informed once they sat down at the breakfast table, she paused watching Maan focusing on buttering a toast, Geet sat beside talking to Vicky who was also being mothered by Meera
'WHEN the doctor feels he can' Dadima interrupted as Vicky let out a happy scream, 2 weeks being home made him crazy especially with Meera who actually made living hard. Who would have thought living with Meera would be so hard, a good few months ago living without her was hard and now living with an overly-complicated wife was worse. But dadi's these words worked well rubbing the smile off his face.
'That's nice for him' Maan muttered dropping the toast on Geet's plate, he looked very annoyed and irritated even when Geet smiled towards him. Obviously he hated the idea of his bother's wife being with him at work, while his was at university studying to be father away from him.
'So when do you guys reckon I can start working?' Vicky asked taking a mouthful of the tasteless porridge Meera prepared, Geet and Maan were listening; Geet with a soft smile and Maan with a scowl, his mood fouling by the second seeing his innocent wife unaffected by Meera's plan
'OUCH' Vicky screamed nest feeling Meera's flick her finger to his elbow, though Vicky was a lot better however his body still needed time to fully recover. 'When you stop screaming like a girl every time I touch you' Meera taunted rubbing his head in glee, Dadima laughed and so did Maan, but Geet and Vicky were annoyed, of course Vicky was in pain and Geet because she was his ally.
'Shall we go?' Maan interrupted when it looked like Geet was about to say something, Dadima got up and hugged her as did Meera washing away Geet's frown, Vicky was the last to raise a thump wishing all the best. This was officially Geet's first day in school in her entire life, previously she was home-schooled for as long as she remembered. So naturally she was nervous and scared.
'Maan did you check I have everything?' Geet asked unzipping her bag and pulling out the documents needed for enrolment
'Yes' he answered driving, his lips hindered into a thin lip and expressions seemed remote, almost as if he was trying to swallow the emotions as whole
'Why are you talking like that?' she complained in a whine seeing through the different papers and then placing then back into her bag
'Like what?' he asked turning the corner
'Like that' she pointed to him with a deepening frown, she then twisted her body towards him, so ended up replacing the seat belt that went across from the shoulder to the hip, 'Put that back' he ordered without looking, 'Like that, all grumpy and mean' she cried following his order and then fretted pulling his hand into hers, tears almost making its way. With Maan over compensating for his past mistakes, Geet had become too dependent upon him; a complete opposite to her wish. However she was still walking to independence but under his shadow.
'I'm sorry, it's just that Vicky has his wife at work and mine wants to run away' he complained thumbing her palm in remorse and she smiled despite the tears
'You don't want me at the office working, you just want to kiss me there' she added with a meaningful smile, 'But I'll come after university everyday like I promised' she kissed his cheeks and finally he smiled 'But we're not doing all that stuff, I'll be there so we can go home together' she complained remembering how he ignored the presence of everyone when it came to her. He was a little shameless and she was a lot embarrassed.
'Maan what happens if I don't like it here?' she asked in a small voice, they were parked in front of the huge building, 'Delhi University' written in clear bold letter's. She peeped at the long lines of people awaiting to enter, at the front stood representatives with cards and pamphlets, 'There's a lot people here' she voiced turning towards him, her eyes a little fearful of the big jump that she was to take.
'They're just people and besides this is what you want, right?' he encouraged taking both her small hands into his
'But' she wanted to complain
'Geet you can do it, you can!' he raised his radiant eyes on her and she smiled despite the thin layer of sweat forming on her forehead
'Would you like me to walk you through the enrolment process?' he asked
'Of course not, what would they think?' she dejected immediately with the thought of people making fun of her
'You'll be fine' he repeated leaping forward to place a sacred kiss to her forehead
'Maan what if I don't like the course?' she turned to open the door but stopped and asked another conflicting question
'Haven't we discussed this before, there's a four week transfer window. If you don't like it here, we can shift universities or you can just change to a different course in line with Khuranna construction' he tried with a cheeky smile
'or study Social Work and help Dadima with Khuranna Foundation' she added with a smile knowing there were countless choices she could make, yet she really wanted to try Fashion, something she thought she'd enjoy.
'Yeah of course there's that too' he gritted through his teeth sounding very much upset but the smile was unfiltered and warm. She then flew into an enteral hug 'Thank you Maan' she thanked and he kissed into her hair 'You're welcome'.
He stayed parked for a while watching Geet walk towards the huge crowd of people, she looked small, a little confused wandering around until she stopped the blue shirted helper asking for directions, she then smiled but even then she still seemed afraid. He was just about to get out of his Audi TT when she walked into a girl, the girl a little shorter and nerdy but something seemed to work out fine since Geet stopped looking small and lost, instead she and the girl talked pointing to a direction and stepped that way. Just when he thought she'd walk away, Geet turned towards his way, there was a good distance between the two however he could still see her evanescent wave accompanied with her lovely smile, the girl beside also looked his way and Geet seemed to be telling her something. It didn't take long for Geet and the girl to disappear within the crowd and when he was sure she was not coming back he started the engine, just then his phone beeped 'I have enrolled now and made a friend, Naina' making him smile, 'I'm just going to class, but the girls don't seem nice and the guy is a little off' she text next, 'Don't go making friends with him then' he replied and waited but then drove off when even after 5 minutes she never replied. Geet was spreading her wings and as her husband he wanted to provide the aides required, so if even the wings shattered with the forced winds he'd still be there helping her strive to the goal she envisioned.
Note: I really don't know much about car, not tech savvy lol but I really want an Audi TT (hopefully real soon lol), no not exactly super expensive considering Maan's wealth but anywho that's his car of choice by me lol
