LOL. None of the BW so called heroes will be ready to play one. K&S was the best example.

I think Ranveer would do it

Call me cynical, but I think this has more to do with him latching on to some "trend" that is a recent success and try and beat that commercially. First that rumour of horror comedy after stree, next rumour of a patriotic film after Uri . Now this. Though, I am pretty sure he will wait to see how Ek Ladki ...does.

Anyways , regardless of motivations - I am kinda hoping it is true - providing he gets a good writer . He is having a golden run as a producer so it would be good for the film

Of course. KJo doesn't do anything without these secondary motivations.

BUT as you say, regardless of motivation, a mainstream gay love story by KJo can help the LGBT community.

Normally I would applaud this, but I don't trust Kjo at all. There are better film-makers. Hell, even Ayaan Mukherjee could do it. Shakun Batra.

I think so too. Kjo had lost his touch in recent years doing too much reality show and playing host.

all the more reason for one. Art influences culture. It's high time LGBT relations got normalized in India.

You know, that awful Sonu ki titufilm missed a great opportunity to be a gay love story

I don't think now is not the time. A film has to be good with art and influences cultures yes. Lekin recovery bhi chahiye. Movie industries sirf art aur passion nehi hai Woh business bhi hai.

Agreed.
EVEN IF such movie would be accepted by audiences.. KJo would make either:
1. The main hero will stalk/hurt his love interest (because , in KJo's own words, why not? If he's a lover he has a right - eurgh- to stalk and harass the person he fancies)
2. The main hero will get love and main hero will push it away and hurt ther person trying to love them ( again, see KJo interview..he sees love only in these extremes)

Any of the above ^^ versions would give the audiences a distorted view of 'love between homosexual partners'.. .and alienate them even more.
And he'd coat EVERYTHING in melodrama.
Everyone will think all homosexuals are weirdos and cuckoo.. or mental cases.. as KJo would present them as either stalkers or gluttons for punishment. He's not attuned enough to human emotion and sensibilities..
So, NO, KJo. Don't.

You ain't the director that can make a sensible film on that.

I dont know. Kjo had asked few actors before Fawad said yes. Maybe he had asked Ranveer too. Now after K&S and new sonam movie everyone seems to be interested. they wouldnt have taken the risk earlier.
