Can ELKDTAL be another Piku?

Ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga reminds me of Piku somehow, with the simple family story line and feel-good songs, also the budget. No-one expected Piku to be a superhit but it did really well at the b.o. At first, the 2 movies might not have any similarity but dig deeper and I found these 3 similarities--
1. This upcoming film underlines the relationship of a father and daughter as well. As seen in the teaser, we see Sonam Kapoor with father Anil Kapoor and it's for the first time the real father-daughter duo will be sharing screen-space.

2. The slice-of-life feel the movie portrays...the feel-good vibe and songs which are light and sparkling.

3. The queer love story notwithstanding, the movie is a family drama like Piku, with very well-etched out characters and the relationship between Sonam and Rajkumar is also pivotal to the story.

So can it break box office records? It might be a small film, but it seems to have a big heart❤️

I don't know why, am really rooting for this movie!

OT if this film works, it's going to be path-breaking for Indian mainstream cinema and I do feel it will work as it looks entertaining.

Piku wasn't even that great a movie to be set as a benchmark.

It's a small-to-medium-budgeted movie. It doesn't matter who produces it, what matters is how much was invested in the movie.

Likewise, YRF has been known to also produce such movies.

It seems like a cute film. Hope it works. Sonam is good in these small town India roles. She was good in Delhi 6, Mausam and Ranjhana.
