Mehek sat on the cold floor, leaning against the couch. Her head pounded and her body ached. Although fatigue and hunger overpowered her, she was unable to catch even a wink of sleep. She was terrified of her captor's bipolar nature. She understood her helplessness and prayed to God to rescue her. She missed her mother. She wondered whether her father is getting anxious for her safety or would be scolding his mother for bringing up her as a gullible prey. She thought she had no more tears to cry but they surprised her. She wept silently and drew her knees to her chest. While drowning in her sorrow, she didn't realise when he came near her until he barked at her, "Get up". She was alarmed and squirmed in fear. "Hurry up. We are leaving", he ordered again. "Where...are...you...taking...me?", she stammered. "To Hell", he shouted, freighting her further. When she refused to move, he grabbed her by arm and pulled her up forcefully.

Shaurya brought her outside and slammed her against his vehicle. Mehek shivered in terror. "Fear no more, Princess. You will soon be with your father", he told wickedly. Before she could speak, he opened the boot of his car and forced her into it.

Once he reached outside woods and came into a clear pathway, he stopped the car. He walked briskly towards the rear and opened it. He found her terrified figure, curled into fetal position. She refused to open her eyes, even after he opened the trunk. He pulled her out roughly and shook her until she opened her eyes. "Please let me go", she begged pathetically. "Your wish is granted, Princess", he shoved her away. Mehek glanced her around and realised that he was indeed letting her go. Her lips curved up into a slight smile until she met his menacing glare. She knew he was up to something dangerous. "Walk away. You are free to leave", he told again and she took baby steps to leave. But before she covered couple of steps, she realised he came behind her. He leaned close to her and removed her hair strands covering her ear. He held on to her shoulders firmly and spoke into her ear, "I, Shaurya Khanna, Alpha of Crystal Falls Pack reject you as my mate and as my future Luna". With these words he threw her like thrash and walked away without giving her a second glance.

Mehek grabbed her chest and fell down. She couldn't fathom her condition. Immense pain shot up her chest as if it her heart has been torn into pieces. She screamed but only faint cries emanated from her mouth. 'She took deep breaths to calm herself and sooth the pain. It didn't subside but expanded with each passing minute. She desperately looked around to seek help.

Rejection, it is heart wrenching for mates. Both figuratively and literally. For weaklings, it could cause prolonged illness or even death. But Shaurya knew DK's daughter was smart enough to abide by the rules and remedy the pain. Once she accepts his rejection, pain will slowly fade away. Yet he was satisfied with the torment she would have endured even if it was for a brief period of time. He knew clearly that even then their bond cannot be broken completely as he had already marked her. The mate bond may remain abandoned and neglected yet will remain intact. Whenever he will get intimate with any female, she will feel the pain. He smiled menacingly while he sped to reach Vivaan and Rajeev.

"Where is she?", Rajeev asked Shaurya. "I decided to let her go . So left her near the clearing", he answered disinterestedly. "We should have kept her in custody. Atleast till the ceremony got cancelled", Vivaan suggested. Shaurya glanced at his watch and smirked, "Auspicious time is over. The ceremony would have been already disrupted due to her absence. There is no use holding her captive". Both his Beta and Gamma agreed. "Then let's rush to the venue to enjoy DK's humiliation", Vivaan suggested and they drove away quickly.

Shaurya changed into tuxedo which Vivann had got for him. He glanced at his reflection and grinned evilly with satisfaction. Strangely his wolf was silent and withdrawn. He had expected his wolf to drive him crazy for rejecting their mate. He pushed aside his thoughts and got ready to relish sweetness of revenge. As he walked out of the men's room, he heard an enticing voice, "Shaurya Baby, I didn't know you were here". He knew the owner of that voice, Archie. She came near and her fingers stroked his cheeks sensuously. He clutched her fingers, making her grimace in pain. But to her utter surprise, he pinned her to nearby wall and kissed her. It wasn't a normal kiss. He was devouring her mouth. His hands roamed on her body, trying to burn her with lust. Once they broke for oxygen, she howled, "Phew. That was fantastic. And unexpected. Why don't we catch up in my room and finish it?". He smirked, "Later Baby". He walked away to meet his friends. "What was that all about?", Rajeev was baffled. "Nothing", Shaurya refused to clarify and moved ahead. "May be he is high on Victory", Vivaan humoured. "Grow up", Rajeev scolded Vivaan, "There something definitely wrong with Shaurya". "Chill, Bro", Vivaan tried to calm Rajeev although he too was not at ease.

The trio were surprised to find DK cheerfully greeting his guests with Alpha of Blood moon Pack. Blood moon pack even if respectful, was known for their viciousness. They wondered what trick DK had played convince their ruthless Alpha. "Thank you for coming, Alpha Shaurya", DK welcomed them enthusiastically. He turned and brought a young girl to them, "May I introduce my daughter Nehal, the future Luna of Blood moon Pack". They all gaped in shock while DK turned to Nehal, "Nehal, this is Alpha Shaurya, his Beta Vivaan and Gamma Rajeev. They are from Crystal Falls Pack". Nehal became pale when he mentioned their pack name. "I am so happy you could make it, Alpha Shaurya. I understand you were mourning your brother Vicky", DK paid his condolences, "I believe he was in Nehal's college. Wasn't he, Nehal?". Shaurya quickly turned to her. He could read guilt and fear in her eyes. But she was clever enough to grab her fianc and hastily excuse themselves in pretense of meeting friends. Shaurya could immediately put two and two together to realise his grave mistake.
