Is lack of English a drawback?

Why do we always mock those who can't speak English and make it a matter of superiority or modernisation? I am asking this because I've seen since Day 1 people have been ridiculing and mocking Deepak for his English speaking. Surely they are not doing this to put him down but somewhere they are instilling the belief that English is superior. Some present and past contestants have even used fake accent as if their own accent is something to look down upon. I have travelled around the world, people in France, Japan, Middle East etc embrace their national language and don't shy away from speaking it.
Why is the lack of Hindi from Sreesanth not used as a tool to ridicule him? But the same is done to Deepak time and again?

Although a very good matter and question raised👏( on our mentality), I personally don't find any contestant ridiculing him for this thing. They tease him for light hearted humour, IMO. Also, deepak too takes it as a joke only 😃. Moreover, not only deepak, someother housemates too aren't very well versed in english. 😊. They pull deepak's legs because he makes it look funny.😆.

Sorry if I have hurt your feelings by disagreeing with you. I didn't intend to.
Ps: I like your posts in support of romil.😃

When it happened the first time I brushed it aside as all in good fun but I am seeing a trend here and Deepak is repeatedly being mocked for his English and they are using the English language as some cool factor or the cool kids. I feel bad that they always make him feel stick out and not one of us type of kids. These people are on Bigg Boss hindi but they obsess more about who and how much command one has for English. If you cannot speak good Hindi its fine, but dare you have some limitation with English then you open yourself to ridicule from the production team, host, guests, contestants everyone!

It's partly because of history TheBoss. None of the countries you mentioned were colonized by the Brits. In almost every country colonized by them being well versed in English is a status symbol and likewise in countries colonized by the French, by Spaniards, and so on and so forth.

In Deepak's case it's done in good humour.

And Sreesanth has drawn a lot of flak from the HMs or been misunderstood as being discourteous because of his lack of Hindi speaking skills and he has never been able to really give vent to his feelings in Hindi.

It was in good humour but i still think such humor should be avoided, it's only increasing the "English is Cool" Trend

Having said all this I do find it very sad that we still think this way after so many years of independence.
