Ekta Kapoor's latest love
Tell us a little about 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil'.
This story is about two lovers. I would describe it as an ethereal story from my heart. The show is bound to ignite the magic of love and romance on television. I hope the viewers enjoy watching it, as much as I have enjoyed making it.
I think we all have the same old stories that we get to see again and again. What makes it different is its presentation and characters essaying the roles. I am not deviating from the fact of my new show being a love story. But it is a more passionate and younger love story.
When you talk about a daily it means one would be seen 28 days a month which requires 30 days of shoot. So an actor being seen on a show airing four days a week and being telecast thrice a day comes along with a baggage of the character. One cannot get rid of the baggage and an already established image. It takes a lot to break the image for a long time unless he takes a break of a couple of years. I want people who are committed and hard working and who do not come with a baggage or image. Newcomers are always willing to work hard and give in their 100 percent.
The reason for my certain shows not doing well as per the expectations is that they were aired on not so popular channels. But all my shows airing on different channels have been the top shows. Be it 'Kya Dill Mein Hai' on 9X or 'Kuchh Is Tara' on Sony. I can't create magic or shows that will shoot up to a TRP of 20. Even 'Karam Apna Apna' is the top show in the afternoon slot.
The vamps on our show are for the tadka. Time is the real vamp on our new show. You will see star crossed lovers drifted apart and pulled towards each other by destiny. As far as vamp required for giving tadka Tassniem Sheikh has done the needful.
'Hum Jinhe Patthar Todna Sikhate Hain Who Hi Humein Baad Mein Patthar Marte Hai' (We teach them to sculpt rocks and in the end they pelt the same stones at us). Well, the show is more important than the faces essaying the characters. We are still the best in the game despite many leaving us.
