Chapter 12
The next morning could only be explained as one work: AWKWARD.
Maan had been the first to wake up to find Geet firmly compressed to the side, his left arm wrapped around her with hers on top on his on her protruding belly as if both were protecting the growing baby inside. He stared for a while taking in the feel; satisfaction mixed with happiness. He had never felt the mixture of the two; not even when he graduated with a first. So what was so special about Geet to pull all the strings of his heart that even his career failed to emote; after all he was a career-oriented man. He continued to stare until she awoke with a slight smile and a groggy 'Morning' pushing closer to him to find warmth.
'Good Morning' he replied deep and warm, it took a few minutes for Geet to realise in whose arms she lay in comfort and immediately pulled away with a silly 'sorry'.
'It's ok' he pushed off standing up as she pulled her hair into a half-up pony. Both avoiding looking at each other. Maan then stepped out the living room and jogged upstairs meeting Sameera half way up who pulled a brow in mock and giggled out singing 'Darling you love perfect today' resulting in Maan rushing upstairs in irritation making her burst into a loud guffaw.
'Sam quiet down, it's too early to be this boisterous' Mohinder hushed from behind walking out his room silently as Rano still slept. Both he and Maan shared a look before Maan closed the door to his bedroom, sorry Geet's bedroom. Inside the room, Maan thought of the morning growing sensitive by the minute. In his embarrassment, he quickly got ready and ran out the front door even before breakfast was prepared.
It wasn't any better for Geet either, as Sam walked over and raised a suggestive brow, Mohinder followed closely behind so the girls stayed silent however Sameera started pinching as if asking Geet to step out the room.
'Sam stop it, it hurts' Geet shouted getting up to her feet as they heard the front door shut
'Maan didn't have breakfast?' Mohinder asked the question with confusion hurrying Geet into a lame explanation of how busy he is, and then quickly exited the room while Mohinder totted to the kitchen to arrange breakfast.
'How was the night Geet?' Sam asked suggestively
'Give your pervert mind a break' Geet stated now walking up the stairs
'Anyway shouldn't I ask the question to you' Geet started stopping in the middle and looking down at Sam over the railings, why are your eyes so red and puffy, 'what have you been up to last night?' she asked with clear indication of mockery resulting in a stupidly giggling Sam, in absolute nervousness she rushed upstairs trying to conceal 'hehe Geet its nothing, silly'.
'Yeah whatever you say' Geet walked into her room to feel Maan's masculine essence and a silly smile spread through her cells just with the memory of the morning. 'Oh dear' she squeaked as nervousness made way again and she immediately ran out the room and into Sameera's, who sat on the bed giggling. 'Let me see that' with one stroke, she caught the phone and looked through the series of texts starting from last night and ending just a second ago.
'ADI' Geet voiced perturbed as Sameera looked to the ground giggling in a very shy manner, so unlike her normal 'self', this only meant one thing, it was the 'Adeel incident' all over again. Last time, Geet was able to handle the fangirling but now when she's 7 months pregnant, it was impossible. Geet sat on the bed looking lost just with the thought of a crazed out Sameera.
'I think I'm in love Geet' Sameera laughed hiding her heated face in her best friend's lap, while Geet stroked her hair in disbelief. Great, just great!
