supernatural fad

I think its sad that Bp will be taken off Television. It just goes to show that the trp audiences have a narrow vision of what they want to watch. They would rather watch shows that have been running for years and end up repeating the same story lines with different generations, nagin/dayan shows, the reboot of an old show and ones where the the original story has completely lost its essence. They are not giving shows with a unique or new concept a chance (aside from maybe shakti which doesnt make sense to me anyway). The supernatural fad at the moment is worrying as it might go further in pushing people away from 'realistic' drama and towards nonsensical crap. Its not a good reflection of society. Just like bollywood movies from the 90s were better than whats coming today, drama serials were also better in content in the 90s and reflected society. Hope the Indian audience wake up soon and shift towars more realism in what they like to watch.
