I watched Ijaazat and Namkeen, they're well-made films. Ijaazat is one of the most beautiful films on relationships.

But I had no clue that he was SUCH a good film-maker until I watched those films... how come he didn't get the noisy recognition he deserves?

Ijaazat is awesome but other than the songs, Namkeen went right above my head...May be I have to watch the movie again!

But had no clue Gulzar was a failed director...I always thought he was one of those well acclaimed niche' directors! After all he made such beautiful and brilliant films like Aandhi, Angoor, etc...

one of the best director n story writer n lyricist some of u will be shocked even the peppy kajarare in bunty aur bubly was written by gulzar sir so never underestimate this gentlemans talent

It is not everybody's cup of tea to understand, let alone internalize the sensibilities and ethos that Gulzaar saab has portrayed in his directorial works... Not everyone can deliver the subtleties of a story in the way Gulzaar saab has done over the years...

Our penchant for content-driven soul-stirring movies has been brutally murdered by the constant farrago of masala movies in the last two decades. In today's date and time when over the top acting and senseless mess garbed as movies rule the roost, probably, it is the viewers who revel in crass and have failed in cultivating a taste for class...

Gulzaar Saab is the failed director!!! Oh sure and Rohit Shetty is deserving of the Oscars..

Parichay is Sound of Music with a role reversal but Gulzaar sahab's craft is visible in the way he so seamlessly adopted it to the desi sensibilities instead of dumbly remaking it like how most of the Indian filmmakers do these days...Parichay remains as one of the all time classic romantic movies!

Wah..kya yaad dilaya!

These media and social media khan wars lead to all these notion of successful means how much more crores movie made, as if producer will donate few crores to everyone. 😆

All his movies are memorable and excellent repeat value , they might did reasonable business also.
