The time has come to bid adieu to Samvat 2074, a fruitful year for the industry. Good content has rocked at the ticket counter, even though these names did not boast BIG names in the star cast. Why, some of these films were directed by either unknown or flop directors'. The good news is that the months ahead look even more promising. For a special Diwali Trade Gup, here's a summary of what's in store from the leading non-studio banners
Yash Raj Films
Tiger Shroff-Hrithik Roshan's Yet Untitled: Shooting has begun and the film features Tiger Shroff, Hrithik Roshan and Vaani Kapoor. The film, which will release on October 2, 2019, is being directed by Siddharth Anand.
Shamshera: The Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor starrer is being directed by Karan Malhotra. The shoot will commence shortly and the movie will release on July 31, 2020.
Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar: Directed by Dibakar Banerjee and featuring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, this film is set to release on March 1, 2019.
Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi's Next: Akshay Kumar has been roped in to play the lead in this film.
Maneesh Sharma's Next: Maneesh Sharma is working on the script for his next directorial.
Shimit Amin's Next: Shimit Amin has finished writing his next script for YRF.
Tiger Zinda Hai Sequel: Expected to be announced soon.
Dhoom 4: It will be made sooner or later.
Dharma Productions
Simmba: Jointly produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, featuring Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood, this film is all set to release on December 28, 2018.
Kesari: The Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra starrer directed by Anurag Singh has wrapped the shooting of its first schedule. Jointly produced with Cape Of Good Films and Azure Entertainment, the film will release on March 21, 2019.
Good News: Jointly produced with Cape of Good Films, the shoot of this film is yet to start. It features Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Releases on July 19, 2019
Drive: To release in early 2019 and featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez, the film is jointly produced by Fox Star Studios.
Student Of The Year 2: Featuring Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday, and being directed by Punit Malhotra, the film will release on May 10, 2019.
Kalank: Being directed by Abhishek Varman, this multi-starrer features Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Kunal Kemmu. The film will release on April 19, 2019. It is a joint venture with Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Brahmastra: Director Ayan Mukerji returns with Ranbir Kapoor and the film also features Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt. It is expected to release on August 15, 2019.
Takht: Karan Johar returns to the director's chair and shooting will begin in 2019. Starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, Takht will release in 2020.
Yet-untitled Horror Film: The only thing known about this film is that it will star Vicky Kaushal.
Shakun Batra's Next: It's learnt that the director has almost completed his next script, which will be his third directorial under the Dharma banner.
Vikram Batra Biopic: Tamil director Vishnu Varadhan will make his Hindi debut with this biopic, which will star Sidharth Malhotra in the lead.
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
Chhichhore: After the mammoth success of Dangal, director Nitesh Tiwari returns with this film, which features Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The first schedule of the film has been completed and it is slated to release on August 30, 2019. It is jointly produced by Fox Star Studios.
Baaghi 3: The third part of the Baaghi series is all set to go on the floors in the first quarter of 2019. Tiger Shroff will continue to be the lead hero in the movie.
Housefull 4: Featuring Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Sanon and Kriti Kharbanda, this is a joint venture with Fox Star Studios. The film will release during Diwali 2019.
Kalank: A joint venture with Dharma.
RX 100 Remake: This film is a launch pad for Suniel Shetty's son Ahan.
Super 30: A Hrithik Roshan-Mrunal Thakur starrer, Super 30 will be ready for release early next year. The film is in co-production with Phantom Films and Reliance Entertainment.
Devil Is Back: The sequel to Salman Khan's Kick and to be directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, this film is scheduled to be announced formally soon.
T-Series
Time To Dance: The Sooraj Pancholi and Isabel Kaif featured film is jointly produced with Remo D'Souza Entertainment and directed by Stanley D'Costa. The film is will probably release in the first half of 2019.
Arjun Patiala: In a joint-venture with Maddock Films, this film features Kriti Sanon, Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Sharma and is directed by Rohit Jugraj. The film is scheduled for early 2019.
Cheat India: A co-production with Ellipsis Entertainment and Emraan Hashmi Films, Cheat India will release on January 25, 2019.
Mogul: A biopic on Gulshan Kumar, details will be announced shortly.
Varun Dhawan-Katrina Kaif's Next: A 3D dance film, jointly produced and directed by Remo D'Souza, it will go on floors in early 2019.
Marjaavaan: In co-production with Nikkhil Advani's Emmay Entertainment, the film features Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film will go on the floors in December 2018 and release on October 2, 2019.
Batla House: Once again, T-Series and Emmay Entertainment will come together in association with Bake My Cake Films to make the John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur starrer Batla House. The film will be directed by Nikkhil Advani.
Saina: A biopic on badminton played Saina Nehwal with Shraddha Kapoor is being directed by Amole Gupte. The film is expected to release during summer 2019.
Taanaji: T-Series has joined hands with Ajay Devgn Ffilm Productions to make the period film Taanaji. Starring Ajay Devgn in the title role, the film is being directed by Om Raut and will release on November 22, 2019.
Luv Ranjan's Next Directorial: The director will be back during Christmas 2020 with his yet untitled film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn. The film will be produced by Luv Films and T-Series.
Bharat: A joint venture with Atul Agnihotri's Reel Life Productions and Salman Khan's Salman Khan Films, this film has Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Tabu and Disha Patani as the main cast and is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film will be ready for release by Eid 2019.
De De Pyaar De: Another collaboration between T-Series and Luv Films, this film features Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. It will release in theatres on April 26, 2020.
Kabir Singh: Along with Cine1 Studios, this film features Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The Arjun Reddy remake is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and will release on June 21, 2019.
Jhund: Marathi filmmaker Nagraj Manjule's next directorial Jhund features Amitabh Bachchan. A collaboration between T-Series, Aatpat Productions and Taandav Films Entertainment, the film will go on floors in January 2019.
Anurag Basu's Next: This film features Abhishek Bachchan and is jointly produced by Basu and Bhushan Kumar.
RSVP/RK Films
Uri: Aditya Dhar's next directorial, the film features Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari. The film will release on January 11, 2019.
Priyanka Chopra's Next: Tentatively titled The Sky Is Pink features Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf. It's a joint venture with Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films. Chopra's Purple Pebble Pictures will co-produce it.
Pihu: The Vinod Kapri-directed Pihu is all set to hit theatres on November 16, 2018. It's a joint venture between both the companies.
Salute: Another joint venture between both the companies, this film features Shah Rukh Khan and it will be directed by Mahesh Mathai.
Yaar Jigri: The first schedule of Amit Joshi's film is currently being shot. The cast is led by Vikrant Massey and Sunny Singh. Ankur Bhatia will also be seen in the film.
Kedarnath: Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sara Ali Khan-starrer Kedarnath is ready to hit screens on December 7, 2018. The film is directed by Abhishek Kapoor, and is produced by RSVP and Pragya Kapoor under the banner of Guy In The Sky Pictures.
Excel Entertainment
Gully Boy: Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film marks the first collaboration between actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Produced by Excel and Tiger Baby Productions, the film is all set to release on February 14, 2019.
Mirzapur: A web series currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Inside Edge 2: Another web series, its second season will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. The show is created by Karan Anshuman.
