Messenger – King Surath's messenger greets King Garud Dhwaj.
The messenger gives the box, which contains the ring and the bracelets, which Sumukhi had returned to Surath.

Sumukhi wears the ring and the bracelets. Surath comes with baraat. Sumukhi and Surath marry and Sumukhi goes with Surath.
Gaurd Dhwaj is thinking something.
Vijaya – What are you thinking?
Garud Dhwaj – I was thinking about Sumukhi. Once she gets married, everything will be all right. (Oh, so Surath and Sumukhi are still not married. Garud Dhwaj was imagining rhat Surath has come with baraat and married Sumukhi.)
Vijaya – With Ma Durga's blessings, Sumukhi will be happy.
Garud Dhwaj – Some times, I feel so restless and various thoughts come to mind.
Vijaya – Have faith in Ma Durga, who removes all troubles. See how happy Sumukhi is.
Sumukhi is dancing with her friends. Vijaya asks one dasi Sandhya to bring flowers to decorate Sumukhi's hair.
Durjay is having a secret meeting with Vajramushti and some soldiers.
Soldiers – We are with you, king Durjay. (So, you have started calling him king.) If needed, we will revolt. Hail to king Durjay.
Durjay – I want to introduce all of you to demon king Kalketu's commander Vajramushti.
Vajramushti – Durjay, the would be king of Vijay Durg, has full support from Kola king Kalketu.
Meanwhile Sandhya sees some coins on the floor and while picking the coins, she reaches where Durjay is having meeting. She hears what Vajramushti says.
Vajramushti continues – You all have to arrest King Garud Dhwaj and queen Vijaya. Demon king Kalketu and his army are with you. Hail to king Durjay.
Durjay – If I have your support, then I have full faith that I will become Vijay Durg's new king. On this happy occasion, I want to gift gold coins to my friends and I will continue to give such gifts.
Durjay gives bags of gold coins to all soldiers standing there. In shock, Sandya opens her palm and the coins in her hand fall. Durjay hears the sound.
Sandhya runs. Durjay and his soldiers chase her. Finally Durjay kills her.
Goddess (to nine devis) – A man becomes blind by desire. Then, he cannot distinguish between good and bad. He wants something and does something else to get that because his eyes are blinded by greed.
One devi – But he does so many bad things to get throne.
Durga – Even after ascending the throne, he is worried. He is frightened that somebody may cheat him. He is restless because the happiness he has got is by making others sorrowful. He is worried if his happiness will always be there. It will not be.
In Chandra Nagri
Surath – Gurudev, as you said, I am going to Vijay Durg.
Rajguru – Have faith in your love. I will pray that you succeed in whatever you are going to do.
Durjay touches guru's feet and gets blessings.
Rajguru – Come back fast and do not forget to take some trusted soldiers with you.
Surath – Gurudev, why soldiers? I am not going on war. I am going to get my love, which I have already won.
Rajguru – Your security is my duty. I know that Vijay Durg has extended its hand of friendship and relationship towards you. But there may be some enemy of yours behind this.
Surath is shocked.
In Vijay Durg
Sumukhi is praying.
Sumukhi – Ma, with your blessings, I am going to get my love. Bless me that my parents succeed in what they are thinking.
That old woman (a form of Goddess) comes there.
Sumukhi – Who are you and how did you come here?
Old woman – Today's day is so auspicious. I have brought colourful bangles to gift you.
She helps Sumukhi wear the bangles. Sumukhi is thrilled.
Old woman – You are so happy. Happiness and sorrow are momentary. In happiness, one smiles. But does he smile in sorrow? Do you know that those who are devoted to God are not worried even in sorrow because their devotion has strength? God keeps testing them and they always pass in those tests. See how colourful these bangles are. Human's life is also colourful. When his life has colours and love, devotion and faith, then he can face all troubles. Remember what I am saying. What appears is not always what really is. This is called Maya. No matter how many troubles you face, have devotion in Ma Durga.
Sumukhi looks at Goddess Durga's statue. That old woman vanishes and merges into the statue. When Sumukhi looks back, she does not see that woman.
Vijaya wishes that Sumukhi should always be happy. Durjay comes there.
Garud Dhwaj – Durjay, do not say that my would be son-in-law has come.
Durjay – Yes, he has come.
Kalketu has come.
Kalketu – I have decided to make your daughter Sumukhi as my queen.
Durjay – Yes, demon king Kalketu wants to marry my dear niece Sumukhi and enhance her honour.
Garud Dhwaj orders his senapati to arrest Durjay and kick Kalketu out of Vijay Durg. But senapati keeps quiet.
Durjay – King, you are an expert ruler. You should know that army and its commander obey only their king and not someone, who has been arrested.
Kalketu – Durjay is Vijay Durg's king.
Vijaya – You have broken your jija ji's trust.
Garud Dhwaj – I will give you death punishment, Durjay. Remember that my subject will never accept you as king.
Garud Dhwaj orders his trusted soldiers to kill Durjay. But Kalketu kills those soldiers.
Kalketu – Your other trusted soldiers have been arrested. Nobody will come to save you.
Durjay (to Vijaya) – Didi, tell jijaji to marry Sumukhi to Kalketu.
Garud Dhwai slaps Durjay.
Garud Dhwaj – I will die but I will never let this demon marry my daughter.
He asks Sumukhi to run away. He presses one object because of which smoke comes out of a metal statue's mouth. Kalketu and Durjay are not able to see properly in that smoke. Taking advantage of the situation, Sumukhi runs away.
Kalketu is going behind Sumukhi. Garud Dhwaj takes out his sword and stops him. Durjay stabs Garud Dhwaj's hand and Kalketu goes in search of Sumukhi.
On Durjay's orders, Garud Dhwaj and Vijaya are arrested.
Sumukhi is running in a forest. Kalketu catches her. Then, with her, he flies in his flying chariot.
Sumukhi prays to Ma Durga and calls out to Surath to save her.
Kalketu – We are flying so high that nobody will hear you. No Surath will come to save you. Only Kalketu can save you from Kalketu.
