Yesterday I watched a tamil movie '96'. The story preciesly is two people who had a huge crush for each other during school days end up meeting again in the school reunion. They pass +2 in the year 96. The girl is married and settled in Singapore while the man stays single unable to overcome his feelings for the woman. These two talk, and talk the whole night, they simply pour their heart out and finally understand that they were indeed in love.
Now what could have happened,
They woman could have ditched her husband and come to this man claiming to found true love, or they could have had a one night stand and claimed it to be a weak moment.
But what they do, they conduct themselves with utter dignity, the respect they show for the institution of marriage, the respect displayed for the husband whom the man has not even met, all so beautifully brought out.
And when the sunrises these two rise in love when she places her hand on the man's head , blesses him and walks away without looking back.
This is what is true love all about. You need not live together, stay together, sleep together but the thought that your love should be happy even if you stay apart, that is love.
This is what atleast i expected out of kunal and nandhini. Had they had little respect for mauli they would not have done what they did. You should rise in love not fall.
What has kunal's love for nandhini has done
She will be called the other woman
She will be called characterless
She will be s**t shamed
She will for ever live with the guilt of destroying her friends life.
What has nandhini's love done to kunal
He comes across as a playboy
He will loose his family
He will loose his reputation
He too will live with the guilt of destroying mauli's life.
Instead of giving into juzzbath, had they held back themselves but still wish good for each other that could have been true love. How i wish the tagline of the story was juzzbath hamesha sahi nahi hote.
