DD has tried her hand at comedy in DMG...and back in those days people used to love her as Dr. Muskaan. 😳

Geet was the best show DD has ever done. It was about a barely adolescent girl who was abandoned by her husband, who ran away from home to save her unborn baby and who became a strong, independent woman. It was different than other Gul shows because It was more than an office romance. It also focused on a social aspect...honor killings. Have been a DD fan since then ! 😳
Again, DD tried to do something different in Madhubala. It was a show to celebrate the 100 years of Hindi cinema. When she signed the show she was promised a fabulous heroine track and all but because of low trps in the first few weeks the makers turned it into a typical daily soap. But when MB was going on, Colors definitely treated DD as a queen. She's became a household name and gained a lot of recognition thanks to Colors.

I have not watched a single episode of her shows after that...Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil so can't comment on those.

And as for this show, I believe she intended to try a different, bold concept but it's not panning out as she had imagined. Maybe if the makers make her an an all out negative character with the usual plotting and stuff that vamps do then she will have less crying scenes. 😆😆

Anyways, if DD decides to come back after this show ends (which I think will be very soon) I sincerely hope it's a show with a sensible story line 😆😆

Agree with Geet being a strong and fantastic character - well worth rooting for!

Even after Geet, Gayatri from Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani was cool and strong from what I remember. She actually reminded me of Geet in some romantic/fun scenes. Gayatri was one character after Geet where Drashti got a chance to be fun, light hearted and flirty as well as strong. I've always thought Drashti excels most in comedic acting. She was genuinely hilarious in Geet.

Also, I've been thinking about an episode of Geet towards the mid-end, well past the show's prime, where Geet is narrating their journey to Maan as a story. It's some of Drashti's best and most beautiful, subtle work. Emotional and poignant. So I know she has it in her. I wish they'd write more of Nandini the person rather than Nandini the crying cardboard cutout so she can actually do some good work again.

Initially, I was expecting to see more of Nandini's personality once she and Kunal got together (something I wasn't interested in seeing anyway) and she's interacting with him more casually but with the way the show and character's being written... frankly, it's the first time I want to see less Drashti on my screen and not more.

Muskan and Geet were extremely beautiful characters & Geet is the best show on dd's career also a best show overall.
Geet showed us how to not give up & be strong in really bad situations. It revolved around honor killing and nri wedding. Both r social issues. Thanks for reminding me of geet. Geet was not a typical regular show at all. And it had the highest trp on star one. It was such a funny show with some really great awesome funny scenes. She was a strong character. Independent.

Madhubala is a show from where dd got repetative. That was also promised of something but later turned out to be something else. They wanted to apply the same geet success formula into rk madhu n somewhat got successful but low trp was always there.
Rk gave a villain feeling all over. He was the cause of all suffering of madhu.

Etr2 was somewhat nice. But still not as natural as geet. She shared some really nice scenes with siddhant. It was a period drama. Something again she thought was different but ended up being the same. A modified version of what she played before. And high on drama.

Pardes. Lol. Naina was actually a very strong character. At least that's what the makers wanted to show. But it had a poor script. And really didn't work out. Nothing more to say about this. Dd fans ne khud nehi dekha hai ye show.

Now this. Dd thought nandini is going to be different. She was promised something else. But she didn't know this will how the outcome be. I think she just got unlucky.
But still Geet would b the golden feather on her hat. She is definitely capable of more things. May b the click she had with Gurmeet is not repeatable but she should focus on comedy more. That's one of her strong zones other than romance.
She was outstanding in dil mil gaye as muskan. Her laugh used to make me laugh everytime. .

Drashti's most likeable role was muskan in DMG. She was so cheerful & entertaining in it.
She would have got good response if nandini was a vamp. Here her character is annoying. She needs to try something new.

in the last phase of pardes she played a confident woman who took revenge without the help of the hero

I didn't know she had a serial named Muskaan..i will search about it.. I did watch Geet but in that serial also, Maan would come to his rescue... I just want to see her portray a confident woman..who knows what she does.. and definitely not a damsel in distress.. She is awesome at her chemistry with other co-stars, just that... i want to see her playing a confident lady.

P.S. Thank you for reminding me about Geet 😳 That wasss the timeee dude. School days 😛 Youth - oriented shows. Where did that time go ??? 😭

I fully agree with you. Drasti has become so boring and repetitive in her characters that I have lost in the interest in this actress. I used to be a fan during her Geet days, but now I'm indifferent to her. Since then I find her very overrated actress.
